“The condo is dated and older. There were no extra pillows or blankets. Only very thin coverlet and flat pillows (4 total for 2 king size beds). There was no hair dryer either. The facility does have an ice machine which is a plus.”

“Don’t waste your money! The smell was nauseating, like cigarette smoke and heavy cheap air freshener. It was like a cheap motel where county services puts the homeless. It had that gross smell. Plus, there was a dead cockroach, stains, old paint bleeding thru the walls, scuffs and scratches, stain on the box springs. The biggest issue was the property manager (PM) never showed up nor contacted me when I called to ask for a different unit. Southern Vacations (SV) told me to wait for the PM who never showed up. I am willing to work with PM’s when something is wrong, but that’s not possible when they don’t respond. I sent photos to SV’s documenting my concerns. Those texts were deleted. I rarely write a negative review. I would avoid this place because other than telling me to wait for the PM, SV did not respond to my request for alternative accommodations or a refund. I lost valuable vacation time waiting, trying to communicate, and looking for different lodging. Infuriating.”

“The building/location is amazing but this condo was not cleaned properly. There were cobwebs & dust, food/drink spilled on & dried on almost every piece of furniture, urine all down the side of the toilet and the base boards in the restroom, food under the bed and couch’s. When I reached out to them they asked if they could send someone to clean it. I told them no I didn’t want a stranger in my condo. The next day after a knock we hear our keypad being punched only to open the door to the cleaners attempting to enter the condo. I attempted to speak with someone local and was told they do not make calls to renters. I attempted to send a message and all I recieved back was it looks like you spoke to someone already! Defiantly try out Emerald beach resort…just not this unit!”

“The property itself was fantastic. The condo was comfortable, the location was excellent, and the direct Gulf view was absolutely beautiful. Waking up to that view was easily one of the highlights of the stay, and we really enjoyed our time there. The only thing keeping this from five stars was the unnecessarily cumbersome check-in process. Although booked through Airbnb, Southern Vacation Rentals required a separate rental agreement and online check-in, including uploading ID, and then we essentially had to check in again at the lobby staffed by a completely different company upon arrival and provide much of the same information. The 4 p.m. check-in and 9 a.m. checkout also felt unusually restrictive. The property itself was excellent, but the management and check-in process could be significantly streamlined.”
