Avari in Saint George Island, Florida

“If you are looking for Motel 6 quality at a ridiculous price in a good location, then this is your place. If not, look elsewhere, as there are many other places to choose from in the same price range that are much nicer. Almost every rental on SGI has decent proximity to the beach. If I had looked closer at the pictures, I never would have booked this unit. Note: Exposed plywood on the floor in the kitchen next to the fridge, repetitive artwork hung in crazy locations (at ceiling level). These were just a few of the oddities we discovered during our stay. Others include no hot water at kitchen sink, oven did not work, and water lines to washer were reversed. Blinds at sliding glass doors were poor quality, missing slats, not level to floor, and barely functional. There were 4 bath towels for 4 people, only one beach towel, and 3 coffee cups. Too many issues to list in the space provided. In short, this is a low-budget place that clearly was not low-budget. Buyer beware.”

“Sewage leak outside, visible toilet paper chunks and smelled awful. AC was broken upon arrival, and the house was 90° and wasn’t fixed until the next day. Half my party backed out and I don’t blame them. Host is a management company and they partially refunded a night claiming the nightly rate was $400 but my receipt said $592. We love SGI, but this was not a fun stay.”

“It was a great location for sure. The view was beautiful and the house was good. When I communicated with the property management company I asked them specifically if there was a grill and they said no there was not a grill there. There was a grill after all. There was a lack of necessities like dishwashing detergent, towels in the bathroom~there was two towels in each bath, beach gear, like umbrellas, or chairs. There were also nails sticking up all over the deck. I loved the outdoor space. It was great.”

“I wish that I could say that this experience was amazing, but I can't: unclear instructions on check-in; 6+ 20 year old college boy on spring break over my head for two nights followed by raw sewage back up. Shit happens. The low review is do to the lack of communication, (ghosting even!) to get my refund. Airbnb worked hard to get it done, but Avari needs to make a lot of changes for me to rent from them again.”
