Avari in Pensacola Beach, Florida

“We really enjoyed our stay at South Harbour. The location couldn’t have been much better or more convenient. We walked almost everywhere every day! In just a few minutes, you can be at the pier or on the quiet beach boardwalk. There are lots of little restaurants and a few good stores nearby. There’s also a Publix about a 6-minute drive away. One thing we noticed is that almost everything opens around 11 a.m., so if you’re up early, you may want to head across the bridge instead. As far as the apartment goes, the place was very clean, and there were plenty of towels and blankets. We did have four complaints during our stay: 1. The couch in the living room is very worn out and probably should be replaced. 2. The TV in the main bedroom is very outdated and uses a DVD player with AV cables instead of something more modern. 3. The dryer took 2–3 cycles to fully dry a load of laundry. 4. They didn’t provide much toilet paper, paper towels, or detergent. Overall, 4/5 stars.”

“The condo was generally clean and the view was really nice. But there were some areas that could use repairs (some baseboards and the ceiling tiles near the entry). We could not find any silverware for breakfast and later discovered that the entire dishwasher was full and there was no way of knowing if it had been run or not. Clearly nothing had been put away prior to our stay. The luggage rack, stowed within the master closet, has a broken leg and was actually dangerous if not noticed. The same master closet had one of its doors off the track as well. The soap dispensers in the shower were practically empty and there was no hair dryer on the premises either. Additionally, there were no boxes of Kleenex anywhere. And last, the bath towels were very rough and also fraying. For the premium rates paid we expected much better. This is not a reflection on who owns this unit but more so on the management that maintains it. Live and learn.”

“Overall, it just wasn’t really what I expected. The location wasn’t great and the property itself felt a bit run down. Check-in felt kind of ridiculous… we weren’t able to check in even a little early, and then the unit didn’t feel as clean as it should have when we got there. Nothing major, but enough small things that it felt a little off. The bed was fine, but overall it just wasn’t anything special. We also had an issue during our stay that never got resolved, which was frustrating. It just wasn’t really our vibe, and I probably wouldn’t stay here again.”

“Avari took some time to respond to inquiries which was inconvenient. The space was very clean inside and true to pictures. The kids games were a nice touch and we appreciated that breakable items were already out of reach for our toddler when we arrived”

“The location was great, beach was nearby and not very crowded. Loved the set up of the room and the beautiful view from balcony. Great kitchen supply. Not a lot of other to do other than the beach. Parts of the microwave started falling off when we were using, and the ventilating fan in one of the bathroom is broken, so when the day is very windy, it would bang against the ventilator all night. Didn’t get much sleep that night. Will stay again though.”
