“Nice, well-kept home. Our stay was short but my family and I enjoyed it. There were a few minor inconveniences but overall, this was a beautiful home. I would stay there again.”

“This is my first negative Airbnb review. The listing photos do not accurately reflect the property’s condition. Downstairs showed noticeable wear, but upstairs was significantly worse. The carpet was so heavily worn and stained that, despite the no-shoes rule, I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking on it barefoot. The upstairs walls, trim, and door frames had extensive dirt and scuff marks, and both upstairs bathrooms had a strong unpleasant odor. Both king beds appeared old and heavily worn, with one having a massive sinkhole that made it unsuitable for sleeping. I immediately sent the host photos and videos and requested another property. None were available, and I was offered housekeeping or maintenance during my stay, even though the mattresses could not be replaced. My concerns were dismissed as “normal wear and tear.” Airbnb Support ultimately had to intervene, relocate my family , and after independently reviewing the evidence, approved a full refund after the host refused.”

“We were out at the parks all day and when we came home the kitchen was infested with roaches. We did not leave any food out or anything of the sort. We contacted the host who did not answer, however it was very late so it is understandable. They left us an after hours number to contact and this number was non responsive and unhelpful. We continued having the same problem the entire trip. They stated to have sent maintenance and pest control to spray the area while we were out during the day, however this changed nothing and for 3 consecutive days the kitchen was filled with roaches. We continuously sent pictures of the infestation and were still not offered alternate accommodations and when asked we were ignored. We are currently waiting to receive some form of compensation as this was disgusting and unacceptable. The host was very kind and helpful leading up to the trip but not when it came to roaches in the kitchen.”
