Vacasa in Fort Myers Beach, Florida

“Ohhhh where shall I begin: -Couldn't get in so I had to spend my first night at my friend's place. -The electronic code to the door didn't work and was missing a screw on the inside so the plate fell off leaving me w/ a TEENY TINY little stick like knob to turn in order to lock/unlock making it a HUGE FIRE HAZARD to get out of the unit if there were a fire for 10 days. -I was given a 10 digit phone number for the lock box that was on the door because the electronic code thing didn't work when it was actually a 4 digit number to unlock it to get the key. -All chairs on patio squeaked terribly. -Fan on porch makes a horrendous noise. -Main sliding door almost impossible to unlock -No kitchen trash can -Glob of hair in washing machine door -No stopper/plug for the bath tub. -No hangers anywhere -Guest toilet super hard to flush -trash chute out of order -king fitted sheets all pilled terribly - so uncomfortable. Felt like sand in my bed. I WILL NEVER EVER USE VACASA RENTALS AGAIN.”

“Great location. Set up as pictured. Upstairs areas were ok. However, cleanliness was sub par. Upon arrival pool was green with algae and unsafe for swimming. It took two days of our vacation before it was cleaned and treated and safe to use. Grill was disgusting. We had to totally strip and clean it down before it could be used. Outside refrigerator had leftover drinks and spills on inside. The outdoor sink was unusable- waterline was cracked, leaking and plumbing not attached correctly. We had to ask for more pool lounge chairs because two were ripped with holes- they did have a friend bring new ones. The lower level rooms had wall a/c units and it smelled musty. Most windows were unable to be opened. One lower bedroom had exposed wire/chords and an outlet that wasn’t attached to the wall. The upper sliding screen door was ripped and shoved behind a generator located on the upper deck. We have documented these things with pictures and videos. Overall it was just poorly maintained.”

“We have a great vacation. Overall, the condo was very clean (except the back porch floor, very dusty/dirty & stuff was tracked in each time it was used). The beach access was amazingly easy. The view was superb too, however, I’m assuming there was a structure previously blocking the view prior to the hurricane so this view may not always be present if rebuilt. The drive into the main city center was long most days at peak lunch and dinner hrs due to traffic and just one lane. A few other notes for management to address: more beach towels - there were only 4 supplied & the home and can sleep minimally 6. The patio door blind slats were 50% missing in one bedroom so morning light was very bright. Shower heads had very weak water pressure wise as well - made for very lengthy showers. More dishes and plates in the kitchen would have been nice to avoid constant use of the dishwasher as well. All those relatively minor things aside, it was clean and the perfect size for our family of 5.”

“We did enjoy our stay. The location, grounds, pool and beach were beautiful and well maintained. Our unit was well laid out and has a beautiful view. Our unit floor was dirty even though the kitchen/bathroom counters & shower were clean. The floor had only been swept, we concluded. Our feet were black on day 1. We would have been happy to mop it ourselves but no mop is provided. A Dustbuster or similar would be useful also - broom & dustpan is not sufficient. No had soap or body wash - containers empty. Chipped mugs, cabinets & drawers had crumbs. Cabinets had spills down the sides. The mattress pad on the bedroom bed was stained. We laundered it ourselves. The pullout sofa had a pair of women’s underwear in it. There were 2 kitchen chairs for 4 people with Vacasa advising us there was “sufficient seating for the number of occupants” - yes, if you include little folding chairs. There are only 2 uncomfortable seats on the balcony. Some towels were older and quite worn.”
