Real Joy in Destin, Florida

“Overall, great condo! Pro’s: Condo was the right size for us and just as described. Quiet and well supplied! We found it in clean condition with enough supplies to get us started for the first few days. The shared facilities (hallway, garage, parking lot, elevator) were well maintained and clean. The beach was so close and beautiful! It was just across the street down a set of stairs with an outside shower on the way back to rinse off sandy feet. The pool was close by and while small, enough for our needs and clean. When we made a request to RealJoy for a maintenance item, they came out the same day. Con’s: We had 2 ways of reaching RealJoy which was confusing. When we requested maintenance they asked for our name, unit, and photos after we had already sent them. They were slow to respond, but did end up coming out the same day. When we were packing to leave, the cleaning crew knocked on the door 15 minutes before check out. It made us feel rushed leaving.”

“The location is awesome. I always wanted to visit this place and stay at the Building. The view was amazing. The instructions were not clear and should mention that there is free parking included and a shuttle to a private beach with chairs and umbrellas. I was carrying a bunch of chairs and a tent that I didn’t needed all because there is no information about this. And I think that this is something that should be included in their instructions. Because it took me an hour to secure a lot of stuff that I didn’t need.”

“didn't realize that real joy was taking over my reservation from air b and b. real joy never responded to my evaluation of the issues I found in this condo once we checked in. the window wands were broken in the kitchen and I could not open the blinds. a window glass was broken in the living room. the sliding glass door had stains on the glass. the couch and love seat had stains on them. the twin bed frames were both broken and the mattress sunk down between the frame and adults tried to sleep on this mess not little kids. no room in master bedroom. hole in master bathroom floor. floor separating in the hallway. the broom in the closet to sweep the floor with was broken into, the cleaning crew had to notice this, IF cleaned at all. the handle on the stove fell off, we fixed it, the cleaning crew had to notice this, IF cleaned at all. holes in the walls and doors where stuff was pasted. I'm tired of trying to write all the stuff wrong with this old outdated unkept condo. nice pool.”

“Overall it felt as if you all were not prepared for our visit. 1. The houses were not clean upon arrival. The floors were dirty and still full of sand. The bathrooms were also dirty and had sand in the bottom of the tub. Their were also personal items left in the bathroom from previous tenants . So while we should have been unpacking, we had to wait for the house to be cleaned. 2. The pool was dirty upon arrival. The second day our kids could not swim until 10:00 because you all scheduled pool maintenance during our stay and not before. 3. The house had roaches, while we were trying to cook dinner the first night, we couldn't put our food on the counter top due to the constant crawling of roaches. 4.Several pieces of furniture had substantial stains, making them feel dirty. 5. The yard was unkept, grass over grown and massive fire ant hill by the back door Beautiful property, but it is not being maintained well at all.”
