Vacasa in California

Vacasa's guest reviews across California. See homeowner reviews of Vacasa on their profile.

Vacasa's guest rating in California of 4.58 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract. The house has weird thermostat. It was heating up the unit way too much. The instructions were unclear and host was not responsive enough to explain.

Horrible beds, all of them. They look okay in the photos, but the beds are so old and wobbly—all four of them. The bed sheets were not clean. We felt like we were using the same bed sheets that previous guests had used. There was hair in the beds and on the pillows. Disgusting. We were two couples and two kids. Our bedroom door would not close properly because there was a problem with the door, so we did not have any privacy. The first night, we wanted to grill steak and were ready to cook. At 8:30 PM, we found out that there was no propane gas tank. I called Vacasa, but the host's automated message said to call between 8 AM and 5 PM. I called the next morning, and the person who answered the phone was very rude. There was no apology. We finally received the propane tank in the afternoon on the second day. There were no spices, no salt, no pepper, no cooking oil, and not enough frying pans. Bring everything from home if you want to cook your own meals. The gas stove is very old&slow

The location is excellent, but the home itself needs better maintenance. The advertised AC only cooled certain areas, leaving the kitchen uncomfortable, and one bedroom’s bed was undersized, slanted, and uncomfortable. I also found chips and sand under the couch cushions and spiderwebs around the windows. Although the sheets were clean, the overall condition felt neglected. The biggest issue was Vacasa’s poor communication. I reported problems with the AC and Wi-Fi on the first day, but the suggested Wi-Fi network and router could not be found. I also requested additional fans but received no timely response. Vacasa did not follow up until the third night, incorrectly claiming my voicemail was full. By then, only three days remained. The AC and TV eventually worked, but the experience was already frustrating. I would consider booking the home again under a different host. With repairs, better maintenance, reliable Wi-Fi and AC, and responsive management, it could become a great stay.

Something’s are old school- wasn’t used to an electric oven. I’ve been at cheaper and better homes.

We have stayed at alot of lakefront homes at bass lake and this house is one of our favorites. Feels like home. Down side is the cleaning. my 11 yr old son grabbed what he thought was his shirt from under bed, turns out they were dirty/soiled womens underwear. We wondered how clean the house really was. Trash cans were full from previous renters. They were tipped over by animals into driveway, we had to clean up and take our own trash down the road because the cans were full.
