“This was a fantastic property in which to spend a couple of days. As a family we enjoyed the myriad of facilities and could have happily stayed longer. There were lots of thoughtful touches and the property was full of character. We’d echo what others have said in that whilst this may have a seventies theme, the tech behind the house is very much up to date, so it’s helpful to be fluent in HomeAssistant to control the house’s many features through the built in iPad. That said, the hosts were impressively responsive to any queries.”

“Host was quick to respond for needs! House is beautiful as described. The house is equipped with camera’s by car parking which I loved made me feel extra safe knowing it was on camera 24/7. Smart house - literally! Perfect stay for a family and super fun things to do if you want to stay at the property only! Highly recommend!!! Also, the bathroom toilet seats were heated haha super cool!!”

“Overall, we had a good stay at The Birdhouse. The environment is peaceful, and the star gazing is absolutely amazing. The house is well kept. It’s close to town without being too close to town. Only challenge for us is that the house is so “smart” that nothing worked. There is a million remotes for the TV’s, the window shades, the lights, etc. We had multiple issues with them either not working at all, or needing to be charged. They sent someone out to help which was nice, but we spent the first half of our trip managing the various issues and then just dealt with things not working and tried to enjoy our time there. They were responsive and they did try and fix the various challenges. All in all, the stay was okay.”

“The stay was great and comfortable. The hosts were super helpful! However, there was poop in the out house and trash in the backyard and trash can outside was full. I know that mostly falls on the hired maintenance but it was disgusting to see. The house itself was nice but just didn’t seem very clean, like the carpet felt dirty and stained the couches were clearly dirty. I would highly recommend in investing in better pots and pans for guest and even add another skillet. From my experience I usually take my own stuff but was too rushed so had to work with what was there. Also, cleaning wipes would have been a nice addition left under the kitchen sink. Bbq area felt a bit janky the way it was set up with the propane tank under ground. Didn’t feel too safe. I feel attention to detail is far more important than just a nice home. I still left a good star rating as it really is a nice home and we did ultimately enjoy our stay. Thank you!”
