“A very pleasant and comfortable stay. This appears to be a spec home that the management company is trying to rent out while seeking a buyer, so you won't get the feeling of being in "someone else's" home, which was a plus for us. It is nestled in the Hollywoodland hills among many architecturally majestic, quirky and whimsical houses. The amenities are clean and new, if somewhat inexpensively furnished, but who can blame them. Nice touches, like branded toiletries and Nespresso coffee pods, give you the sense of staying in a resort. The main disappointments were (1) learning after signing the rental agreement that heating the small pool came with an additional exorbitant daily charge that we refused to pay; (2) being asked to sign a "Showing clause" that would have allowed prospective buyer showings during our short stay, which we also refused without too much pushback; and (3) being denied use of the elevator despite our age and the many stairs. Just a little caveat emptor.”
