6 hour outage, consequent of Reno fire, no fault of the property itself, but, property is ill-prepared for event of an outage. Battery lights in the house were dead, no replacement batteries. We were able to get 1 light to work switching batteries around. We’re glad the outage began w/ some sunlight, had it begun after dark, navigation of the house would have been impossible.Beyond this, contact info in the kitchen is ood, provided number was not associated w/property.There’s a ViOP phone thus, this phone did not work w/o WiFi. It was a challenge finding cellular signal on the property to make a phone call/send a message. Lack of service is not a fault of the property but would have been great if property had a means of making a call in event of an outage. We were able to get information re:concerns msging the host via the Airbnb website w/significant delay, ~ 1hour, in answering some questions. Would be wonderful to see property better anticipate needs in the event of a future outage.

This stay was very frustrating. Check-in required using a third-party site even though I was verified through Airbnb, & we had to call to get the door code. Communication was through AI, & we constantly had to ask questions & wait for answers. The house wasn’t as clean or well maintained as expected. Lots of dirty/chipped dishes & utensils, dirty floors, stained pillows, old food and leftover items from previous guests, worn-out kitchen items, and not enough towels for 6 adults and 5 kids. The upstairs primary bed was uncomfortable, there were no blackout curtains, the deck was in poor condition, & the screen door fell off more than once. The listing, house rules, & Grand Welcome information didn’t always match. Example- occupancy limit & the garage was listed as fitting two vehicles but only fit one. The biggest concern was when the power went out. For a mountain cabin, there were no flashlights, first-aid kits, or basic emergency supplies. Ai couldn’t seem to help us with that 🙄

I would recommend due to poor phone service, provide door access code through the app prior to your check in time. The app that was provided to generate an access code was extremely difficult to open due to phone service.

The place itself was great. Super comfortable and quiet. However, I was not impressed by the third-party management company that handles the reservations. They not only charge outrageous fees if you want an early check in or late check out, but they also asked us to start a load of laundry before checkout (which is coin operated and you have to pay for). Personally, I like air bnb for your ability to direct message the actual owner. This third party management with external websites and additional fees really took away from the experience I’m used to.
