Had a decent stay, was a cool Airbnb. Had good views, and was decently close to other activities in the area. Was a bit of a bummer that the wildfire caused a power outage in Tahoe City and the neighboring few cities. Only reason I didn’t give a 5-star review is that this place did not include a backup generator, and the host took a little long (>4 hours) to get back to us with information after we reported the power outage. Was especially bummed we didn’t get to try the sauna as that was one of the main reasons we booked this place. Will have to come again to try it out.

Check in was 4pm. Cleaning crew did not show up until 3:50pm and finished at 4:30pm. I asked for an early check in that was not approved. Would have been acceptable if we could actually check in on time.

We paid nearly $10,000 for a five-night stay, and this was one of the worst rental experiences we’ve ever had. This was especially disappointing because the trip was for a special occasion—I was announcing my engagement to my family. When we arrived at 4 PM, the cabin was completely uncleaned, with trash, water bottles, clothes and rags left throughout the property. We then waited over two hours outside while cleaners rushed to prepare the three-story cabin. Even afterward, there were hair and debris on the carpets, a filthy grill covered in grease/oil, an empty propane tank, and an improperly cleaned hot tub. To make matters worse, the dryer began producing a burning smell. We unplugged it and called maintenance, who confirmed the dryer was broken. This could have ended very badly if we hadn’t noticed it. After waiting roughly three weeks, the only compensation offered was the cleaning fee. For nearly $10,000, this was completely unacceptable. Unclean, unsafe, and absolutely not r

This is a comfortable cabin in a great area and close to a very fun beach. The large deck is fantastic. The beds and linens are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The owners could make a handful of changes that would elevate the experience of staying there a lot. First - replace carpets or clean them very well - there are many stains. Second - replace window coverings in the main living room. They are old and broken and they are important to keep the cabin cool in the afternoon. Third - replace the couch. It is also old and the upholstery is stained and creased in places. Fourth - replace shower insert in the laundry/bathroom on the main level. It’s past its prime. Fifth - There are many cobwebs on the deck and high up in the living room that should be regularly removed. We didn’t have any issues with pests but there were many large cobwebs.

Over all the house is comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our time. The cleanliness was lacking (huge pile of trash in garage and floors were dirty) and personal items in closets, drawers, and chest was uncomfortable. There was no salt, pepper, or oil. Lots of other amenities just not what was listed. No vacuum made it difficult to maintain with so many rugs.
