“This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. Vacasa required me to leave the Airbnb platform and sign additional documents after booking and paying. They refused to cancel and refund, so I would have lost everything I paid if I didn’t comply, despite Airbnb initially stating this was against policy and then backtracking. Vacasa then refused to provide a copy of the agreement until I asked nine times. Communication was extremely poor throughout. Responses often took days, were generic, avoided direct questions, and no one would identify themselves. During the stay, they even used my number to try to contact another guest about a separate rental issue. The unit itself was unacceptable. It was dirty, with stained furniture. Both patio locks were broken, so the space could not be secured. One shower did not drain, leaving standing water. No extra towels or blankets were provided for four adults, and I was told to do laundry instead of being given basic supplies.”
