“We loved the beach house and had a wonderful stay. It was exactly as advertised, with great attention to detail, easy check-in, responsive hosts, and a beautiful view. The little beach was so much fun for the kids when the tide was out, although it disappears at high tide. The one disappointing part came after checkout. We were three adults who are avid cleaners and made a real effort to keep the sand under control, especially with two young kids, rinsing off each time we came in. Despite our efforts, we were charged an additional $375 cleaning fee, plus charges for two stained towels. We were told this was outlined in the rental guidelines, which I understand. However, for a beach house where some sand is inevitable, I would suggest providing a better quality vacuum so guests have a reasonable chance of getting it all up. We genuinely tried to leave the home in great condition. Overall, it’s a beautiful property and we really enjoyed our stay.”

“I think Miriam was delightful, and the problems here were mostly out of her control. The unit was strangely humid when I arrived, and that’s the extent of what she could have done to make my stay more enjoyable. That being said, travelers beware: The community of Newport Beach is notoriously unfriendly, and lived up to that reputation during my stay. That attitude was heightened to a dangerous extent following a mass arrest even on July 4, 2026 - days before my arrival. If you are looking for a relaxing place to vacation, this is not the place. The street parking is difficult, and the cyclists and e-bike riders are highly aggressive. Beware teenagers riding e-bikes. Some carry projectiles and dispatch them wantonly. You will encounter belligerent people on the beach. Of course I want to reiterate: none of this is Miriam’s fault.”
