“The inside of the home is welcoming and cozy. The backyard and walkway to back building is designed very nice with little blooming flowers. Loved the hot tub and the fire pit, perfect for our last night there. Loved everything about the house and proximity to the beautiful black sand beach, except, how close the house is to the main road. Made for noisy sleep. But I would definitely do it again anyway.”

“Overall, the location and size of the house was perfect. The details however, were lacking. We received notification the night before that the hot tub wasn’t working, which was one of the main reasons we chose this house. But despite not having the hot tub, they did have a fire pit to enjoy our evening around. The beds are really hard. There was mold on the front door step and the refrigerator hadn’t been properly aired out. Shelves were dusty so it just needed a more attentive house cleaning. But we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed our stay. Also bring a lighter and your own firewood because the wood left there was wet from the salty air each night.”

“While otherwise a lovely and well equipped home, the heating situation was an issue, even in summertime. Later I looked again at the house description and while it does say "There is no central heat. The only heat in the living area is the gas fireplace. The thermostat and furnace do not work. There are portable heaters in each bedroom," this is buried at the end of the third paragraph after many descriptions of less essential things like David's Deli and Pacman, by which point one has stopped reading. I think it would be best if this was mentioned at the top of the description, so that folks could be alerted more readily and decide if this situation is for them. There were no instructions printed near the gas fireplace about how to use it, and since we never had used one, we didn't want to experiment and risk causing a fire. So our common space was cold at nights. It also took some searching to find the second space heater, which was in a bedroom closet with a very stuck door.”

“Pros: quiet area, clean and spacious. Cons: the place needs some love, broken lamp in living area. Kitchen pans could use a replacement, preferably with matching lids. Burnt out ceiling light bulb. Probably the most concerning item is that 3 different times, the shower water shut off within 2 minutes leaving us with soap covered bodies and not able to wash our hair (both bathrooms). We were headed to a wedding in Fort Bragg. Last item, spider in our sheets and a rather large one poking around above shower in master bath. I feel that for the money spent per night, a bit of love on their part could make this home pretty special because of the quiet neighborhood. And adding some condiments and coffee could take it over the top.”
