Destination Big Bear's guest rating in California of 4.77 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract. “Our family of 8 had a great stay here! The house had plenty of room for everyone so nobody felt crowded. The view of the lake was beautiful and we spent a lot of time just enjoying it. The fireplace made the evenings really cozy and the full kitchen made it easy to cook meals together. We will definitely stay here again!”

“Good location, okay service, our door lock broke and maintenance came out and changed it while we were out and instead of telling us the new lock, my poor elderly mother got to the Airbnb and called me in a panic that they locked us out, luckily I assumed they used the last 4 digits of our other lock code but I shouldn’t have had to assume that it should’ve been communicated immediately when the lock was changed. Secondly BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS, not only are the stained with what looks like old blood (🤢) they are the thinnest pillows known to man kind we had to triple stack them to get any sleep. And third the shower curtain is grossly stained and needs to be replaced. Other than that our stay went smooth, the location is perfect, how many bedrooms and beds are perfect! The hot tub was fabulous and we had plenty of space to cook and spread out!”

“We mostly enjoyed our visit to Big Bear and this home. This Big Bear home was a little more rustic than is shown in the photos. The staircase up to the house was in need of renovation, the railings were splintery and I had to be very careful going up and down. When I reached the top, there were pine needles covering the entry as well as the deck outside the dining room. The door to the deck was non operational and it appeared that the heaters and fire pit were as well. That was disappointing. The bed in the Master bedroom was very high and I was unable to get onto it, so ended up in the bunk bed situation. Not the best since we were celebrating our anniversary. The stove/oven were finicky, two of the burners did not work and the oven worked some of the time. One last thing that should be addressed—there are a lot of food items in the pantry and cupboards that are way out of date, some foods had dates from 4 and 5 years ago.”

“No problems with our stay and house was great. Clean house and no surprises. Only note was that there were multiple strict rules regarding number of occupants, cars, and curfew that were pretty stringent. Additionally, upon checking out the garbage bins were locked and the property managers offer a $50 fee to remove trash. We removed the trash ourselves at our own inconvenience but it appears there would have been an additional charge if we had to leave the trash behind.”
