Destination Big Bear's guest rating of 4.77 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Our family of 8 had a great stay here! The house had plenty of room for everyone so nobody felt crowded. The view of the lake was beautiful and we spent a lot of time just enjoying it. The fireplace made the evenings really cozy and the full kitchen made it easy to cook meals together. We will definitely stay here again!”airbnb

“Good location, okay service, our door lock broke and maintenance came out and changed it while we were out and instead of telling us the new lock, my poor elderly mother got to the Airbnb and called me in a panic that they locked us out, luckily I assumed they used the last 4 digits of our other lock code but I shouldn’t have had to assume that it should’ve been communicated immediately when the lock was changed. Secondly BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS, not only are the stained with what looks like old blood (🤢) they are the thinnest pillows known to man kind we had to triple stack them to get any sleep. And third the shower curtain is grossly stained and needs to be replaced. Other than that our stay went smooth, the location is perfect, how many bedrooms and beds are perfect! The hot tub was fabulous and we had plenty of space to cook and spread out!”airbnb

“We mostly enjoyed our visit to Big Bear and this home. This Big Bear home was a little more rustic than is shown in the photos. The staircase up to the house was in need of renovation, the railings were splintery and I had to be very careful going up and down. When I reached the top, there were pine needles covering the entry as well as the deck outside the dining room. The door to the deck was non operational and it appeared that the heaters and fire pit were as well. That was disappointing. The bed in the Master bedroom was very high and I was unable to get onto it, so ended up in the bunk bed situation. Not the best since we were celebrating our anniversary. The stove/oven were finicky, two of the burners did not work and the oven worked some of the time. One last thing that should be addressed—there are a lot of food items in the pantry and cupboards that are way out of date, some foods had dates from 4 and 5 years ago.”airbnb

“The location of the homs, the dock, and fire pit were what made the home. Everything inside was pretty dirty and needed to be wiped down by us. We wiped down and cleaned utensils and pots and pans, there was visible dust and grime throughout the house, the home itself had a somewhat dirty smell, stains all over the carpet and a sinking floor in the bottom back bedroom. The outside area also had a lot of visible hazards and we had children with us, these included a pile of rusty ground picks, piles of undone fencing, and area of the fence that was completely unfinished leaving our elderly family and kids at risk to fall, and much more. We would not recommend this home to others. It has a great location and beautiful view but for the cost, is not worth it.”airbnb

“The house it’s beautiful and very peaceful. The reason I gave it a 4 star was due to the beds squeaking. Any movement little or big you will hear the squeak. There are very steep stairs going to the rooms and it’s a 3 level home. Besides that we had a good time and enjoy the rest of the home. Thank you”airbnb

“No problems with our stay and house was great. Clean house and no surprises. Only note was that there were multiple strict rules regarding number of occupants, cars, and curfew that were pretty stringent. Additionally, upon checking out the garbage bins were locked and the property managers offer a $50 fee to remove trash. We removed the trash ourselves at our own inconvenience but it appears there would have been an additional charge if we had to leave the trash behind.”airbnb

“The cabin was exactly as pictured and described. The cabin is in a nice neighborhood and on a quiet street. We only saw a few people out walking their dogs and only saw one neighbor the entire week. It was nice to be close to everything we wanted to do. The cleaning crew didn't do a good job though. When we arrived, there was a large dog mess in the backyard from previous guest. There was also a large bowl filled with bags of poo in the backyard. The grill cover and patio furniture cover were just thrown on the ground. There was a dog bowl of water & a shovel at the top of the stairs. We're not sure if those are always there or left by previous guest. They didn't clean up after their last fire and the can had ashes in it left by previous guest. I believe the previous guest should have been charged for not following the rules before checking out and whoever is paid to clean the cabin should have taken care of it. We cleaned up the dog mess and took care of the ashes.”airbnb

“The cabin's location was wonderful, right on the lake, with beautiful views. However, the cabin could benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. Upon entering, we immediately noticed an unpleasant odor that was difficult to describe. We also noticed cobwebs on the light fixture above the kitchen table and a significant amount of dust accumulated on the ceiling light fixture. The amount of dust was particularly concerning because I had placed my baby's bassinet nearby and turned on the fan before realizing how dusty the fixture was. My mom also mentioned that the ceiling fan in the room she stayed in had a considerable amount of dust buildup.”airbnb

“Beautiful place, partial lake view from deck, good location, quiet neighborhood, ample parking. We found it clean. Advise to bring a coffee maker as to read out and timer not working. Good sized kitchen, nice deck with large table. We would stay again!”airbnb
