“We enjoyed the comfortable beds and quiet community during our stay. However, all the towels had a distinct sour smell, as if they had sat wet in the washer before drying. We rewashed them ourselves during our stay. which wasn't a big deal, but noticed there was no fabric softener provided, which might have helped with the odor. Upon checkout, we saw the requirement to start a load of towels. This policy likely explains the issue: if guests check out hours before cleaners arrive, damp towels sit in the machine and turn musty. Cleaners then either have to re-wash them (wasting water) or throw them straight into the dryer, locking in that smell. While checkout chores are common, taking out trash and doing laundry feels like tasks that should be covered by the cleaning fee. Overall, a great place to stay, but the host should rethink the laundry checkout requirement to keep linens fresh.”
