Blueground in California

Blueground's guest reviews across California. See homeowner reviews of Blueground on their profile.

Blueground's guest rating in California of 4.25 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract. The location is nice, but the customer service is not helpful if not terrible. Although they responded promptly, they didn’t resolve anything.

When we checked in, the carpet was already stained across multiple rooms and the sofa was so dirty we had to cover it with blankets to use it. Blueground admitted the setup wasn’t finished and said a complementary cleaning will be provided. We reminded them repeatedly during our stay, but they didn’t. Communication was frustrating too. Too many representatives were in one chat, none on the same page, and we kept getting bounced back to people we’d already talked to instead of a clear answer. After we moved out, Blueground tried charging us $355 ($195 carpet + $160 sofa) for the exact same pre-existing damage we had reported before we even checked in. Only after we pushed back firmly did they agree to drop the charges. The location was good and the unit was spacious, but it clearly wasn’t ready to rent. It felt like they counted on us staying a month and two weeks to overlook the issues instead of doing the work upfront. I will never use Blueground again

We got postponed check in a day and learned about this the same day we were supposed to check in. So we had to get a hotel. We then got notified the next day right before check in that our reservation was cancelled due to maintenance issues. We’ve now been stranded without a air bnb and missed 3days of work

Unfortunately, this apartment did not live up to its premium price. I reported bathroom mold immediately after check-in, but it took almost two weeks to fully resolve despite repeated follow-up. I also couldn't access the parking garage for the first two days because I was given incorrect instructions, making it extremely difficult to move in since there is essentially no street parking. It then took three weeks to receive the key fob needed to access the building amenities. Customer service was always quick to respond, but they were ineffective at actually resolving problems and repeatedly insisted their instructions were correct, even when the building manager confirmed they were not. The listing photos are also very misleading. The apartment receives almost no natural light during the day. With the lights off, it was literally dark enough to feel like nighttime. The location is convenient and the furniture is decent, but overall I don't think this apartment justifies its price.
