“We stay in the SD metropolitan area at least once a year. We have relatives nearby and children of Disney-enjoying age. (I guess Disney thinks that’s everyone). This was the perfect place to stay as far as location within the SD area. Perfectly halfway between San Diego proper and Carlsbad/Oceanside. Also, the beach access is unrivaled. You can walk to fletcher’s cove a half a mile away, but it’s quite crowded. Or you can just walk down the back stairway of the complex, and basically have your own private beach with 5% of the crowds of the bigger beach. On our flight home, my wife said this is where we want to stay each time we make the trek to SD. The perfect spot.”airbnb

“We had such a wonderful stay! The home was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed relaxing by the pool and making the most of our time there. We had a fun experience and would happily stay again. Highly recommend!”airbnb

“Beautiful condo that was very clean and furnished with nice furniture. Kitchen was also stocked well. It is a gated location that unfortunately you must get out of your car to open the gate because the drive up pin pad was removed. Parking was a breeze and is not a far walk to the condo; however, we arrived at night so it was a bit tricky locating the accurate path leading to the condo. A suggestion could be to provide a google earth picture indicating exactly which path is correct. It also happened to be a very hot and humid weekend and this condo does not have air conditioning. Due to the location of this particular condo, there is no outside breeze that comes through. It would have been nice to have a couple more portable fans. Thankful the ceiling fans worked well. Overall, I would recommend this location.”airbnb

“The house was right off of the highway making it easy to get to places. The kids loved the pool!”airbnb

“Southern California is beautiful and my family and I enjoyed the trip. The house had plenty of beds for my large family. The only downside was the neighbors noise complaints, making it impossible to use the amenities outdoors after 8 PM. And the balcony was off-limits, which has a beautiful view of the city. Getting into our car early morning, we got a complaint that we were yelling. I agree we were talking, but there was no yelling.”airbnb

“While we loved the space and location, there were definitely some misses with the amenities promised via listing/photos. - The washing machine broke mid-trip. My husband was able to fix it but we were limited to very small loads which was challenging after daily trips to the beach and showers for 8 people. - The listing promised yard games which was very important for us with 4 kids and 10 days. We never received the yard games, even after sharing this feedback very early in our trip and receiving confirmation from the host that they would deliver. - The outdoor grill was completely unusable. It is very rusted inside and the heat was causing the rust to pop up into the food. - The water pressure in both showers was so powerful that our kiddos cried in pain each time.”airbnb

“This is a lovely accommodation, and the communication with the host when we couldn’t open the door was excellent. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was especially appreciated during the hot weather. The campground itself feels a bit worn and untidy, but the staff are exceptionally friendly. The swimming pool is great for cooling off, although there is no shade or any umbrellas. There is a supermarket about a 10-minute drive away. The surrounding area offers beautiful nature, and for us, three nights was more than enough. The reason I’m not giving more stars is the disturbance we experienced from the neighboring tinyhouse (residents) and their four cats, which spent almost the entire time on our patio. I reported this to the campground manager, but apparently there isn’t much they can do about it, so consider this a warning for future guests. We were forced to eat indoors which had a negative impact on our stay.”airbnb

“Breath-taking view! House was beautiful! Very convenient for our family! The only thing I would mention is the house and beds were DUSTY. Maybe the cleaners could do a better job? The game tables were also wobbly and need some fixing. AC could also be set at a lower temperature. It was set at 75 for our visit and it was still hot at night. Other than that our visit was great!”airbnb

“Before our trip, I reached out to the host asking how many bikes and boogie boards were available. I never got a straight answer. Upon arrival a man was there fixing the bikes, who said these bikes CANNOT be fixed. Once inside the house, there was a Squirrel on the bed in the master bedroom, looking at me like I just invaded his home. Black ants inside the house. The couch was broken down and hard to get out of. The Host sent 2 guys to remove the squirrel, they tried using the boogie boards to remove the squirrel. They were unsuccessful. There was a hole under the sink where the squirrel had come through. We opted to cancel our reservation and the host sent our money back. Airbnb has their call center in another country and they are very difficult to understand. They did not help to find us a new place to stay or offer any compensation.”airbnb

“Great home if you’re going on a silent retreat! My family and I rented this home for a 60th birthday celebration. Pros: enough beds for a large group, responsive host (they overnighted us towels), great location. Unfortunately, my family and I left that weekend feeling harassed by Airbnb due to the hosts inconsistent communication on “quiet times”. BEWARE the neighbors can’t tolerate ANY noise outside. If you book with them, they’ll tell you that quiet time starts at 8 including on the balcony (this is typed out several places), but if you make any noise on the balcony they’ll report you to Airbnb for a noise complaint. My family and I sat out on the balcony to eat dinner and at 6:30 we got calls from the host to immediately clear the area. It turned into a whole ordeal with Airbnb. They have great amenities but they can’t be used in the evening at all. Unless you’re planning to spend all day in the house and not exploring San Diego I really can’t recommend staying here.”airbnb
