Manager Review

Tybee Cottages

Tybee Cottages's guest rating of 4.74 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The cutest cottage on the beach! An easy walk to the beach, quiet location. The cottage was perfect for a weekend away!

My family had a great time! 6 adults, one teen, one baby and this was truly a family vacation home. There were games ready for playing, tons of space indoors and outdoors to spread out and not feel on top of each other, and all the necessities you could need. We were always comfortable and really enjoyed the back shower for after the beach, the BBQ, and the rooms. A few things to note, as this was our first ever time in Tybee. There’s only one small grocery store on island with limited inventory so pop to Savannah to stock up if you’re staying awhile. The parking here is tight, I wouldn’t say it fits 4 comfortably as advertised. We squeezed in 3 cars with a bit of Tetris. Finally, we never even had jelly fish on our radar — good to look up what the waters hold whenever you’re booking. Lovely to be so close to the beach but no help if you’re not able to get in!

The living room desperately needs a new couch and the grill needs to be cleaned and maintained. Other than that the stay was nice.

The house and the location were beautiful and perfect. No complaints about that. We had some issues with description (it wasn’t clear that it was two separate units until a later message from the rental company). There were very few basics (limited toilet paper, only 2 kitchen trash bags, NO cleaning supplies, no beach towels). One of the sofa beds was broken to the point of being unusable so one person had to sleep on a trundle mattress we found. The fridge took forever to keep things cold (there was a sign on it saying that would happen). We notified the company about issues we had and did get some extra trash bags but nothing else was correctable during our stay. On the day of checkout, the cleaning person showed up an hour and a half before checkout and just sat in the driveway watching us pack up and leave. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for our family. The issues were all with the management. Some small changes there would make a big difference.

The location was great. We’ve stayed in Tybee every year for the past 20 years and this was an older home that needs a little updating. But overall we had a nice stay.

It was better then staying at a hotel, me and my family felt like right at home and the short walk to the beach was a plus. We really enjoyed staying at this property.

The only critique is the couch felt broken. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean and the space was really well appointed. We loved our stay.

Great stay and place was as advertised. Had a group of 12 with young kids along for the trip. Everything was used on our stay from the pool, full kitchen, pickle ball court, beach, poker table, legit pinball machine and outdoor grilling area. We assigned dinners throughout the stay to members of our family and the kitchen had everything to accommodate. Awesome stay for the family! Improvement areas for the stay. We booked over Memorial Day week but price was high compared to other weeks of the year and it felt like we paid above premium. Beach access is private but getting to it needs to be improved. It is a steep incline and decline. Steps need to be added to make it safe and fully accessible. Other houses had better accessibility. Paper towels and toilet paper were thin and cheap and I’m sure part of the management company’s inventory. With having several bikes on property and having them all locked up seemed a bit weird to me. Would be nice to have at least 4 of them available.

We had a great stay, impressed with the amenity’s. However, we continually struggled with communication, the response was extremely too long. We were unable to use the outside grill for four days as there was no propane. When asking for propane and pool service such as turning on the heater it took multiple messages to resolve. Our toddler was most displeased and impatient waiting for the heat of the pool. The overall breakdown in communication throughout the stay was a bit frustrating . The response team continually failed to inform us that we were not messaging the correct personnel to address our issues until the last two days. The overall stay was great. We would most likely return.
