Manager Review

True North Property Management

True North Property Management's guest rating of 4.69 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Unfortunately, we had a few issues with this condo. You get a fairly quick response via text, but if an ACTUAL PERSON has to come on site for any issues, it will take DAYS. A few of the issues we experienced: the garage door opener was dead. After waiting for days for the service team to fix it, we decided to go to CVS and replace the battery ourselves. We had a stretch of time with no Wi-Fi, which was terribly inconvenient. The elevator alarm was beeping non-stop for 2 days after I reported it. In the unit, there was a stain on the headboard in the master bedroom. The bath off the hallway was embarrassing. It still had the silver metal frame of a glass door unit, but the glass was missing and a clear vinyl shower curtain hung in its place. There was an unpleasant odor upon entering the unit. It didn't smell fresh in the entry area. The location of the unit was great and the views were amazing. But I am not sure I could recommend this unit for the price we paid.

Great Location, Disappointing Unit The Good: Fantastic location with an easy walk to the beach, downtown shopping, and great restaurants. The Bad: The unit did not match the listing photos or layout. Located on the ground floor instead of an upper level, our only view was a busy highway and parked cars. Due to thin walls, street noise and upstairs neighbors (including flushing toilets) were constantly audible. Always confirm your floor level before booking! Maintenance & Cleanliness: * Chipped paint, beaten-up baseboards, and unfinished wall repairs throughout. * Unlevel cabinets and doors that won’t open or close. * Zero water pressure in the main bath shower. * Worst part: A dirty mattress covered in dog hair stored on the closet floor, plus stained, dingy bath towels. Definitely not worth the price. Would not recommend.

Honestly, the house was nice. The location right on the water was very nice. We unfortunately, had some issues with the stay. - Landscaping was overgrown and not maintained - gas leak outside - right off an extremely busy and fast road, very loud - internet went out on day 2 of our 4 day stay - check in was at 4. Got notified at 4:15 that cleaners were not done until after 5. - Showers and the kitchen sink were very slow in draining - When we checked in, the sliding door was left wide open to outside - When we got to the house, I had to wait over 15 minutes for the team to get back to me on what the code was to get into the house.

Drove four hours and waited almost an hour after check in to he told our Airbnb wasnt supposed to be listed nor available. Would not help find any other accommodation. Didn't even try to help us after leaving us stranded. Will never recommend or try again.

For the price we paid this home was definitely not 4.5 stars. We were blown away of the inaccuracy of the previous reviews. The home setting is stunning. The home itself and amenities are less than desirable. There were only 5 beds not 8 as advertised. The main bathroom had an awful smell that maintenance could not fix and said it has been there for over a year. Only 6 towels for a party of 10. Including kitchen Towles. The pots and pans were disgusting. We ran out of hand soap and dish soap and were only give one half used roll of paper towels. The home itself is not maintained well. If the price was half of what we paid it would all be understood but we paid premium pricing for a mediocre property.

The stay was sub par. The house has a bad smell. The house is dated, the back porch needs to be cleaned and treated . The tables chairs and cushions were gross and haven’t been cheated or treated in years. The neighbors adjacent is under construction, new home being build, ad didn’t say this or we wouldn’t have booked it. Nothing like construction noise next door. The river isn’t swimmable from shore or dock. Plus the tide/flow won’t allow it. The river is very narrow and you can see and hear everything going on with every neighbor and boat going by . River is no wake zone, takes 20-30 minutes minimum to get to and from torch lake. Next door neighbor on opposite side of construction side was that neighbor that watched everything you did and was just a pain .

The location is great. The lake is beautiful. The bedroom on the main floor is comfortable. The kitchen is adequately equipped, and the house was clean when we arrived. However, 1 day after our arrival, a large population of flying insects infiltrated one of the upstairs bedrooms. Bugs on the bed, walls, ceiling, lamps, tables. Falling from the ceiling. My friends who were meant to sleep in that room ended up sleeping on the couch all weekend instead. The host assured me “this is related to the natural environment due to the property’s close proximity to the lake, and it is something outside of our control even though the unit is properly cleaned and prepared.” We drove a long way for this vacation, and it was a holiday weekend so we just made due with the couch, and sealed off the bug room. We kept windows and exterior doors closed during our stay, the bugs got into that room another way. The host apologized for the inconvenience but offered no help to make it right.

Very poor communication starting with the delayed check in as the cleaning service wasn't aware of our arrival and then again slow communication as we lost Internet access for RV and devices. Asked for a call back on Sunday and they called me on Tuesday.

Unfortunately this was one of the worst Airbnbs we've experienced. First they say it's on Griffith Ave. when it's actually two blocks away from Griffith. They advertise Griffith Ave. because it is the affluent street in town with all the big houses. We walked in to black tar on all the furniture and tracked through the whole house. We didn't have a clean place to sit so we had to place blankets on the couch to sit. There was trash under all the beds, old socks under a bed and trash in decor in the bedrooms. Bathroom doorknob was broken off and laying in the soap dish so that bathroom door couldn't be closed all the way. Only one remote had batteries and they were dead so we had to go buy some. We had to go buy ant bait as well because the kitchen was infested with ants. We kept all food in the fridge to keep ants out. There was a cockroach upstairs. The house was so bad they sent a cleaner over who spent 3 hrs cleaning just the kitchen. She then called the host to tell him it was bad.
