Tahoe North Rentals
4.60Visit website
Tahoe North Rentals's guest rating of 4.60 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Not a terrible place to stay, but there is cockroaches here, and when mentioning to the host they tried flip the blame on us.”airbnb

“I hate to leave a bad review because we had an amazing time in Lake Tahoe, but our stay at this BnB was disappointing. The hot tub was the main reason we booked, yet we were told after arrival that it was broken. We were then told a third-party repair person would enter the home “at some point during the morning,” leaving us waiting with our belongings. They never came while we were there, but the lock was removed by 6pm. We asked if it was safe to use and did not get an answer until 10am on our last day, so we only enjoyed it for a few hours. Communication was very poor, We received no response about early check-in and delayed answers. The home was not well maintained: dog hair on sheets, body hair on “clean” towels, broken lights, spider webs, a broken TV remote, a broken screen door, and a broken outdoor heater. We requested a partial refund but never heard back. After filing a complaint, we received only $100. I would skip this BnB. This was not the experience we expected at all.”airbnb

“We really liked the location and the community is very quiet with a nice pool. The place itself is also nice and basically exactly what it looks like. There are a few not great things though too: 1. They messaged us several times about signing a check-in form, giving ID, and a credit card. You do not need to do this. We did not. It doesn’t say this in the posting. 2. The beds are not very comfortable and the curtains might as well not be there since they don’t block much light. 3. The kitchenware is all extremely cheap, which is normal for Airbnb, but the handles of the pots in particular get extremely hot to the point where I actually burned my finger the first time (very minor but still visible the next day). 4. The toilet paper is close to 80 grit sandpaper. Despite this list, we did have a nice stay and like the place overall. We felt it was a bit expensive for what it was but August in Tahoe is going to be pricey.”airbnb

“I have been an Airbnb customer for 15 years all over the world. This was the WORST experience I have ever had. The sliding glass door on second story did not having a working lock, I reported the problem, they took over 24 hours to bring a temporary stick for the door track instead of repairing lock (on day 3 of our stay). This was horrific having 3 young children under 5 to look after. Do not stay here especially as a young family. The host also mentioned it was not required to have a lock on that door, so if you care for the safety of your family/ friends, do NOT stay here. I don’t foresee them caring to repair the lock in the future.”airbnb

“Awesome stay overall! Easy walking distance to the River Ranch Restaurant. Fantastic view of the Truckee River. We had a few maintenance issues that I reported (so had a previous guest according to the reviews). The posting did say the whirlpool was closed but didn't mention that the pool was also closed. We stayed a week so a few more towels/trashbags would have been nice. We asked for a 30 minute later check out and was denied even though the generic email that Airbnb sent out the night before said to let them know if a later check out was needed. These are just minor things that could have been made our stay even better. Overall it was a great stay and I would highly recommend this unit to others traveling to the beautiful Lake Tahoe area.”airbnb

“The house is in a beautiful and walkable location. The house has great amenities for the price. The rental company did require my credit card information on a separate website before I checked in, which was not specified in the listing. The house was also not nearly as clean as the photos showed and the yard was overgrown and unusable for outdoor activities.”airbnb

“Overpriced for this condo, it was musty smell and dusty. Screen door was broken, dryer was broken, paint chipped all over the bathroom. Second floor. Stain on and bedding downstairs. All available fans were dirty/dusty. Kettle had rust inside. Had to continuously ask for early check-in, A week before, 24 hours before and didn't get a response until 11:00 a.m. the day of. Loud music until 1:00 a.m. Pool is across the street. Unsatisfied and I will not be back.”airbnb

“Overall, the location was great, the beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the extra blankets, pillows, and board games. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by several issues. The living room ceiling fan and light did not work for our entire stay. Since the home has no A/C, this made the living room much less comfortable. We reported it shortly after arriving and were told someone would come repair it, but no one ever did. We also found trash next to the bed and an open condom wrapper on the floor, which raised concerns about the cleanliness of the home. The blind wand in the master bedroom was broken on arrival, and the downstairs could use some updating, with patchy paint and partially broken laundry closet doors. Communication was polite, but responses often felt generic and didn’t always directly address our concerns. We did appreciate the complimentary late checkout. -Unfortunately the TVs in the bedrooms are outdated with no cable and only work with DVDs.”airbnb

“Cabin was great, clean, and size and location was as expected. However, we ran into the following issues: 1. Be warned there was No AC and in summer we were stuck with 82deg in the house becuase the ceiling fans were slow and extremely high up 2. The WiFi was almost non existent. You can connect, but nothing more than that; couldn’t browse or use the web despite multiple attempts 3. The strange lick stopped working after the first try. Overall great cabin but for the price we paid (which was a lot) we expected more for our family.”airbnb

“Location is great, walkable to public beach and included access to private community beach! I wish there was more info in the home about the house, how to operate things (like thermostat) how to access pool/beach/towels/ ect. The place was updated and had a really nice kitchen, bathroom, and comfy bed! The host was very responsive but seeing as we did have a few issues come up they did not help resolve any of them. There were several broken or non working things and the host never had a solution or fixed anything while we were there. Examples: Broken coffee maker, broken patio chair, broken vent fan in bathroom, tv not working due to outdated software and bad cable. The bedding and towels were washed/unused but they were old stained and covered in hair. So gross! The place was clean on the surface but after spending a few hours we were noticing a lot of dirty areas. The cottage needs a deep cleaning for sure and the host needs to help resolves issues when they arise.”airbnb
