“We appreciated the location of this condo. It was very quiet, and close to the beaches. The listing did not match our experience. The space was much smaller than expected for four adults, we felt like we were constantly on top of each other rather than having room to spread out. Having only one bathroom for four people was challenging. The portable air conditioning mentioned in the listing was actually a unit set up in the living room, so it wasn't truly portable. The bedrooms were very hot at night. We couldn't open the living room sliding door because there was a hole in the screen that allowed bugs to come inside. The cleanliness could have been better. We found hair in the shower, floors were dirty and our bare feet turned black, the dishes had crusted food, and couch with noticeable stains leaving us with the impression it had not been cleaned thoroughly. The convenient location near the lake was a highlight. We felt the listing overstated the size and comfort of the property.”

“The home is dated and worn. A Carpet tack or two underfoot at thresholds, and some bent forks in the kitchen. Also, one shower just quit working on day two. Great quiet location, but not worth the price.”

“The positives: very spacious and the game room is great for hanging out in. Check in was smooth, house was supplied well, and location of the home was incredible. Easily walkable to the downtown Kings Beach area. Our family had a great time hanging out by the lake and stopping at the local brewery/food trucks nearby. The negatives: cleanliness and responsiveness weren’t the best. I messaged the host ahead of time to inform them we would be using the sofa bed and asked about linens. That message was never responded to and when we opened the sofa bed we discovered it was dirty with pine leaves on it. Additionally, our feet became a little dirty as we walked in the house and we found multiple dishes in the cupboards were dirty. I tried to address my concerns with the host directly but they didn’t respond to my message. Additionally, one of the couches is sunken in/a little broken. If cleanliness and responsiveness improved rating would definitely be higher. Overall appreciated the stay!”

“The house is in a lovely neighborhood within walking distance of the water. The place itself was perfectly nice, though dingier than it looks in the photos and most of the arcade games are not fully functional (e.g., broken joysticks or the game won't play). The host, Jonathan (though AirBnb thinks it's Stacey) wrote novels to us in the messages, giving far more and more repetitive instructions than were helpful.”

“I've used Airbnb for 11 years and never left a negative review until now. Up to a point, we had a great stay — the house was lovely, with a beautiful lake view and comfortable, well-equipped interiors. Near the end, we became concerned about the possibility of unannounced access, as we hadn't been told anyone would be entering during our reservation. When we raised it with the host/property manager, the reply didn't clearly resolve our concern, which left us uneasy. To be clear, nothing was ever confirmed, and I'm only sharing the concern we had and how it was handled. We asked to change the access code for our final night but received no concrete solution, and a later follow-up about access went unanswered before checkout. This affected our sense of safety that last night. The property itself was good, but the communication and follow-up felt too passive. I hope the host responds more clearly and proactively if future guests raise concerns about access.”
