StayOver Cabin Rentals

StayOver Cabin Rentals's guest rating of 4.71 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Overall good stay - 7 ladies in for a reunion. Pool was a nice amenity, water was warm. To note - we arrived at 4:15pm, check-in was at 4pm. The key code for the lock did not work. Luckily the cleaning lady was still there to help message the owners and get us in. In addition, they did not provide the lock for the pool until that time (Seemed to be an afterthought). The overall decor of the place is really chintzy. There were visible price tags left on the vase on the table and the place could really use a makeover. The shelves in the fridge were coming out as well as one large shelf completely missing. I would still recommend this place for the value, but be warned that the roads to this property are treacherous. 1 lane, and when another car is coming around the curve, you have to get over (often a ditch on the other side). We purposely only went out during the day, and avoided driving at night. Temp was fine - extra AC provided.

We thought the cabin was decorated beautifully and enjoyed that there were other options to explore that only people booking their cabins could explore. The staircase was also a beautiful, fun touch and the loft and first bedroom were gorgeous. However, we would not have booked this cabin if we had known they ask you not to turn the AC lower than 72 or adjust the hot tub below what they have it set on, which was 104. We were pretty warm with no fans in the first floor living area. I would also not recommend staying here with young toddlers. The screen doors on the front and back did not stay shut, even when locked, which was a bummer for us. We had to keep the main doors closed the whole time, so our 1 year old didn’t fall out the doors while crawling, as he enjoys leaning on the doors to look out. The shower was also extremely slippery, even for the adults, but there is a bar to hold onto. All in all, if you run cooler and aren’t bringing young kids, the aesthetic is great!

Upon arrival entrance wasn’t clear. Had to walk to back of cabin. Kitchen dishes and utensils were stained, had to purchase own pans to cook with. Spiders were in the cabin, saw at least 3. Outside was covered in spider webs. Blinds were messed up and bent. There is no light in shower, was dark. Downstairs bedroom has no light source, had to move a lamp inside the room. The back bottom lock is broken and the front door looks kicked in and sticks, we had to use chairs to secure the locks. Aside from this it was ok. Surroundings were beautiful, hot tub was fine. Location is good. I felt sending checking out instructions so early of my second day was inconsiderate and had me confused if I messed up my booking. Property needs deep clean and maintenance.

I only have two flaws about the cabin. One: the bedroom/loft was super super hot making us sleep on the couch downstairs. Which was super uncomfortable. We even brought a fan to help the other 3 fans in the room. It’s was like 90 degrees. Second: there was no instructions on what to do for check out by this website. Half of the time the WiFi barely worked for our phones so we had to go to town and screenshot our information we needed. I have been to a lot of places. Most of the places have a book or something to guide us through our stay. Food recommendations? Things to do? Overall the cabin was cute, it was a great time in the woods. We were not fair from some of the red river trails. It was peaceful and quiet. You definitely need a 4wd to make it to the cabin. The road was little rough with potholes coming up to it.

This property is beautiful and so peaceful. Upon arrival, we noticed very quickly how dirty the floors were. Our socks were covered in dirt within the hour and the floors felt very sticky. There was mold on the upstairs mini split which caused the room to be unusable due to fear of mold exposure. Lastly, we used the guest room in the pool house, and had an extremely dangerous situation of a gas leak from the fireplace. It smelled horrible and the couple woke up with awful headaches that resolved after getting out of the space. This property is beautiful and could be an amazing stay if they improved on some of these issues. The pool and pond were great for our family to enjoy and have peaceful scenery.

We have stayed several times in that community , first time at this cabin though . When we arrived the bedroom door was locked , they did send maintenance quickly to open but he mentioned he’s theee a lot to open that door . Why not just change the lock ? Cabin was not clean and no one contacted me to really discuss or even offer a credit . It’s very disappointing to be charged for a clean cabin and then it isn’t .

We even gave up a few days and lost money because we were done with traffic & construction noise. Told if we said anything that AirBNB was going to agree with them that I was just retaliating because they refused my refund for false presentation of the place.

**Mice Infestation!!** My boyfriend and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. While the treehouse was visually beautiful, unique, and secluded, the condition of the property became a serious issue. After the first night, we encountered mice running through the kitchen area. This was not an isolated sighting and made the space feel unsanitary and unsuitable for guests. We also heard mice in the wall of the upstairs bedroom. Due to the severity of the issue, we chose to leave the property early in the middle of the night rather than continue our stay. The setting and appearance of the treehouse do not make up for the lack of proper maintenance and pest control. Future guests should be aware of this issue before booking. We notified the property managers, but no accommodations or meaningful resolution were offered. Instead, we were informed that the treehouse is located in a wooded area and is not fully insulated, openings for pests and other intrusions are to expected.

We were provided incorrect codes for check in. There is not a host book. The property's address was not clearly marked. The back door was open with a lock that didn't operate. The air didn't work. We had maintenance personnel at the cabin until 11pm. The portable air unit was extremely noisy. The portable air unit didn't work well the 2nd day/night as temperatures were 87/90 degrees inside.. There is a bee/mice problem. We live in woods in Wisconsin and have our pests under control with regular maintenance. They offered to move us after 8pm to a different cabin, the night before our checkout. Not enough towels. I was informed 2 towels per person. There were no hot tub towels, only four small bath towels for 2 people for 2 days Management did give us one nights credit minus fees. I did request an additional credit and was denied. The cabin is charming in an extremely charming setting. I hope they can get their act together for future travelers.

While I appreciated the prompt response to a 45-minute lockout caused by a malfunctioning digital keypad, I was disappointed by the initial communication, which lacked an apology and instead focused on the key return policy, with repeated warnings about additional fees. Although the owner apologized upon departure, no form of compensation, such as a late check-out, was offered to offset the disruption. The cabin's cleanliness and rustic decor were positive aspects. However, the very loud persistent highway noise significantly diminished the sense of seclusion. Furthermore, the downstairs television was non-functional, the cookware cabinets were unclean with cobwebs, and dish soap was not provided. These issues detracted from the overall experience.
