Stay Smart
4.50
Stay Smart's guest rating of 4.50 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“This home was relatively new but clearly not very well maintained. I would not use the term "Luxury" to describe this home. Being relatively new was a plus since appliances were relatively new except dishwasher was not functional and not repaired when reported. Only one TV and that was in the family room area. Non in bedrooms. In general it was a decent rental but with condition and issues I believe it was over priced.”airbnb

“This was the worst vacation rental experience we’ve ever had. The owner was notified of multiple issues, but none of them were properly resolved during our stay. The biggest problem was that the air conditioning did not work at all. The house felt like an oven, and it was so uncomfortable that we had to leave during the day and find other places to spend our time just to stay cool. Basic supplies were also lacking. We ran out of toilet paper and didn’t receive more until the night before checkout, so we had to buy our own. There was no laundry detergent provided, forcing us to take our laundry to a laundromat. We also had to purchase our own trash bags because none were available. In addition, the light and ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not work for the entire stay, making the room even more uncomfortable. For the amount we paid, we expected a clean, functional, and properly maintained property. Instead, we spent time and money dealing with issues that should have been addr”airbnb

“There was trash left behind, the pool was pretty dirty, there is one trash bag per day that wasn’t told until day of checkout. There was a walker on the outside as well. I asked a question on the app and they didn’t reply until I asked again. Beautiful area but would not rebook again.”airbnb

“The only issue we had was with the only television in the house. There is no remote control. You can download an app but the WiFi was spotty and service was constantly interrupted. Management was made aware of the issue and they were not very responsive.”airbnb

“I wish I had better things to say. The ONE plus was plenty of room for eight. The cons: Door knobs missing/broken, dishes in cupboard dirty, dishwasher didn't work. Only six towels that were put away wet. Sheets and bedding dirty, NO top sheets or duvet covers (we asked and they didn't deliver), dead bugs/flies, LOTS of lint behind dryer, washer/dryer were coin operated, big surprise. Electric outlets only half worked, food from previous tenant left behind, dust everywhere, GARBAGE outside, can was full, bags were piled high and had been opened by animals. Patio door unlocked, we locked it when we left for a tour and when returned it had been forced open and was left unlocked (scary). Filthy cookie sheet that had to be scrubbed, non-supportive mattresses, 3 beds broken, box of potatoes holding up cupboard, chipped tiles, used bar of soap in bathroom, listing photos do NOT match the house, sink nozzle broken, filthy fans in bathroom, no cleaning supplies, almost no toilet paper.”airbnb

“I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was unacceptable from start to finish. The home itself is beautiful, but the condition it was in upon arrival was shocking. It was clearly not cleaned—there was hair everywhere, the bathroom was filthy, and personal items from previous guests were still left behind, including a used bar of soap. To make matters worse, there were bugs in both the beds and the bathtub. I ended up sleeping on the couch because I didn’t feel comfortable using the beds. The bedding was dirty, the comforter had visible blood stains, and one of the beds was broken upon arrival. Even after washing the bedding myself, the bugs were still there. When I brought up the broken bed, the manager admitted he already knew about it and asked if I wanted someone to come fix it. At that point, I declined because the overall condition of the place had already made me uncomfortable. When I reported the bugs, I was told, “it’s that time of year,” and asked if I wanted pest co”airbnb

“I stayed here with my family (spouse and three young children). While in a beautiful neighborhood, this house did not match the pictures. Yard was not mowed or maintained in several weeks (kids could not go outside), bathroom rugs had wet foot prints from last renters, brown stains on carpet in bedroom and dirty walls. We even saw bugs (some kind of roach) scattering across the living room. Counters and tables had residue on it, I assume was from previous renters. This house was not worth the price paid which was disappointing for a family vacation.”airbnb

“The place was spacious and 5 queen beds comfortably hosted our group! However, there were many issues. The stove was broken, microwave took some coaxing to work, spotted an enormous insect in the bathroom, gnats in bedroom, and unclean bedsheets caused hives on our skin.”airbnb

“Iamleavingthisreviewtodocumentmyexperience with Smart Stay so future guests can make an informed decision. I am giving a one star, as that is the lowest rating available. I booked a home in Merced, CA. for a short stay for my mother's funeral. Airbb communicated throughout the reservation process, including the first day of our stay. However when I arrived at the property, I was unable to access the home. I immediately contacted the host. He apologized andinformedmethereservation had been canceled and should have been notified. I did not receive prior notice of the cancelation before arriving at the property. After several hours, thehostarrangedalternate accommodations. The property was smaller and 30 minutes away from the original listing. Which ruined many plans. In addition several amenitieswerenotfunctional, includingtelevisions and washing machine. The host issued a partial refund and stated a full refund was being processed. I waited 2 weeks. Nothing. VERY DISAPPOINTED”airbnb
