Stay Montana

“Great place to stay. Very much enjoyed, was impressed with how well stocked, the setup of the rental was. Plenty of kitchen utensils, games and small features that really enhanced our stay. My two complaints were more with stay Montana the vacation rental company. As not all necessary check in instructions were easily listed. The door code was included in messages that were sent to me. But the gate code was provided in a property link guide, that requires WiFi or cellular data to access. Also one of the links was not working, a different one provided was. This is a very unnecessary oversight on their part as all other key check in institutions are given in messages beforehand, without having to access the property guide link. Also, there is not a golf area, par three golf hole on the property. As is listed in the description we booked this as a golf trip, when we reached out they said they would check. But no response or reason as to why that was listed in description was given.”

“Could have been great, but the check in was confusing and response was slow. Had to stand out in the rain with little kids for too long trying to get in. There was broken glass under the couch and one of my kids cut his hand on it. A minor inconvenience: There were no kitchen rags to clean with, so we had to use the bathroom towels. The location is great, and the place has a lot of potential. Our main concern was the lack of communication especially after expressing concerns over the broken glass.”

“Clean property in and out. Large spacious fridge and ability to cook at the house if you wanted. Big draw backs for us. 1: This place is extremely overpriced. No A/C and the solution is to leave windows open at night while you sleep? We did not take this advice due to safety reasons, obviously. Be prepared to sweat if you go during summer. Beds and pillows are uncomfortable unless you enjoy sleeping on mattresses that are like floors. 2: There is an extremely uneasy feeling that my wife and I both felt as soon as we walked in. Hard to explain but there are areas of the home that make your hair stand up. Feels like you are being watched. Doesn’t feel like there is much privacy with the large windows with no coverage. 3: My wife forgot an important item. Very difficult time getting access back to retrieve it. Called several times and was supposed to get a call back on accessing but never did. Shout out to the cleaning lady, she was the only reason we got back in to get the item.”

“The condo was as described and was comfortable. The only issue was that I was never sent the link to the code to get in the door despite letting them know what time I would be arriving. They did reach out ahead of time to aid when I would arrive and even responded with a quick text back, however I was never given the instructions to enter the condo. Upon arrival I was able to find and call a generic number and he eventually was able to get me the code to get in. So, in the end it wasn’t a big fail; just a mild inconvenience and the rest of the stay went great but it was just something that could have been managed slightly better. I would only take half a star off if I could and make it a 4.5 stars.”

“We checked in late at night and went to bed immediately, planning an early start to hit the mountain the next day. Overnight and into the morning we all suffered a bad allergy and asthma attack. Only after returning to the condo did we discover the reason: visible DUST, DIRT, and dead BUGS accumulated on surfaces in every room and bathrooms. I sent 10 videos to Stay Montana management, but we were unable to reach an agreement. I reached out to Airbnb. They reviewed the evidence, and gave us a substantial refund per their cleanliness policy. I hope Stay Montana is able to retain suitable cleaning service moving forward, I hate to leave a bad review but I feel obligated to be honest. Also, the main mattress felt like it was 20 years old — very worn and uncomfortable. The views are beautiful and the condo has nice potential, but these issues really affected our stay. I wish we could attach videos to this review.”

“Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our stay at this ski condo. Having lodged and skied across the United States, this is not a ski condo we would recommend, earning a 3 out of 5 stars from our experienced and well-traveled ski crew. 1) We traveled across the country and requested to drop our luggage off in the unit 2hrs before check-in. The unit was vacated, cleaned, and empty. The host said that we would be charged a pro-rated nightly charge for dropping our stuff off just 2hrs early. 2) Ski locker that you aren’t allowed to use. We had to leave our gear unsecured on the porch each night since it’s not allowed in the unit. What ski condo padlocks their ski locker and doesn’t allow tenants to use it!? Insanity! 3) 3 rolls of toilet paper for 5 nights for a place that is supposed to lodge 5 people. We had to run out and get more. 4) No pool towels, just indoor towels. We had to air-dry each time after using the pool. We recommend looking elsewhere in Big Sky.”

“The firelights are a good location in Big Sky, and quiet and tucked away from the main town center area. The home was nice, but we were disappointed to arrive to a cold hot tub for the first night of our stay. When I reached out to the host they told me it was MT State Law to drain the hot tub each time someone checks out (which is actually no longer a law and something you can avoid by running the hose from the sink or bath tub). i was also surprised at how minimal the amenities were within the home (no spices or coffee), which went I asked the host they referred me to the listed amenities for the home. Regardless, 99% of houses I’ve stayed at recently offered at least a few k curls for the first day of coffee. As someone who travels a lot and has worked in hospitality for 10+ years, this host missed the mark for us.”

“The space in the condo is pretty tight, but funcional. The main room was cold and we needed an additional heater (that we found in a drawer) to keep it toasty. The kitchen contained everything we needed to cook a few basic meals, but the dishes were cheap. The main bathroom had a barn style door to the bedroom which is adorable, but not when you’re trying to keep the bathroom private. The biggest concern was the lack of communication about how to get to the ski hill. There wasn’t a map or shuttle guide included in our materials and that was frustrating and exhausting to try to find out way to the mountain. Nor was there a restaurant, activity guide or information about ski storage. This Airbnb lacked the personal touch and service that we have appreciated from other Airbnbs. Overall, this condo and service underwhelmed us for the price we paid.”

“This was not a good place to stay and definitely not worth the money. Upon arrival the code did not work so we couldn’t get inside. We had been informed that there was an issue with the master/loft shower, but were not informed that it did not work at all. The master/loft closet was locked so we had no where to hang clothes. So many lightbulbs were burnt out that it was dark and light switches didn’t seem to turn on the light they should. Sauna was not easy to turn on, the instructions on the sauna door were not correct. There was a musty smell in the house, it seemed dusty and there was a large, dead, dried bug in the basement bathroom Q-tip jar. The coffee pot took forever to make a pot of coffee in the morning, and the pans were old, scratched up Teflon that did not look like they should be cooked with. Silverware and dishes had old food and sticky stuff on so I washed everything before we used. Overall huge disappointment for the cost, we moved to another Airbnb.”

“this place isn't worth the money, suggest to avoid at all costs. nearly every night of our stay there were parties in the pool room by different groups some staying at accommodation and some not. the sound was funneled through our room as it's located above the pool room which made for a horrible stay overall. we even had the room next to us smacking on our door at 10pm on the first night thinking we were making the noise, before she realised we were is a blacked out room with headphones on trying to sleep, showing the noise was funneled through our room to other parts of the building. the parties went on from usually 5-11pm each night with both us and other rooms nearby on 1st and 2nd floor raising the issue to various authorities, the host was not able to help with this and considering the cost of the stay and lack of help from host it was not a great place to stay. we spoke to a few locals and they told us this is common within the Sherpa building we were staying in”
