“Ok deal for the place”

“I arrived to the apartment completely uncleaned. Dirty bed, dirty towels, and trash still there. I messaged the host at 10pm (I arrived late so understandable she was asleep) but no response till the next day. She refunded my first night and cleaned the next day, which I appreciated. But the next day she laughed it off saying “things fall through the cracks” and brushed it off as no big deal. I paid over 2k to stay here for two weeks, had a 16 hour travel day, arrived late and had to buy a clean blanket, and then spend time cleaning at 10pm and couldn’t shower because no towels. Terrible experience. There was also a rancid smell in the hallway. I bought two candles which kept it ok in the apartment. But the host said it was likely the trash room. The apartment itself was fine. Location is good. Extremely loud at night but as expected.”

“Great little spot that was perfect for one person who doesn’t plan to cook much. It’s just what it claims to be, quiet and cozy. Very happy with the place. Great walkable neighborhood, food trucks right nearby, Selwood is a nice spot to find hidden gems.”

“We had a nice stay but would like to note a few things. 1. The dryer wasn’t working properly. We told the hosts and hope they can fix it for future guests. 2. We didn’t feel that we had proper privacy because there is no shade over the large window in the doorway so the hosts can walk by and see the living space/pullout couch where I had thought to put our child. 3. Having artwork that portrays political leanings was distasteful and in this situation also highly offensive to us. We hope the hosts will consider this to make future guests more comfortable.”

“This air bnb failed to meet our expectations. We thought it was going to be in a nice neighborhood, due to its proximity to Mt. Tabor Park. But we didn't find it very appealing. The apartment itself seemed old and shabby, and it had a musty smell, perhaps because it was in the basement. We moved to a hotel on the second day. Amy's charges are on par with those of a hotel, but her place was far below the quality of local hotels!”

“This is a very convenient location with easy access to Alberta Arts district. Our only complaint is that the floors didn’t seem to be vacuumed or swept, counters appeared not to be wiped very thoroughly, and cleaning needs more attention overall. We enjoyed our stay, but would have expected cleaning standards to be spotless at this price point.”

“This unit was nice enough, however, I have a lot to say about this company (#stayinmydistrict) I stay in hundreds of vacation home rentals and I almost never leave a bad review. I first rented another property of theirs and it was very poorly described and they were very sneaky in hiding it's less than desirable conditions. When I communicated with them about trying to find a solution I was met with a very aggressive response, name calling, rude, inconsiderate and not helpful. The trend with this company is lies and misleading information. Cheap is also the theme, uncomfortable cheap furniture and accessories. They also lied about offering me a refund just to get me out of the property and cancel the booking so I couldn't leave a proper review on the previous property. A lesson I learned from this booking and this company, it's always important to also read the bad reviews, not just the good ones. I would stay far away from any rental with this company's #stayinmydistrict on them.”

“It was a cute little place. Very walkable to great area. WiFi did not work and I needed it for work, communicated this around 10:30p at night and heard back about 5 minutes before check out, was a bummer not to be able to get work done.”

“Our stay was unfortunately disappointing, especially given the price. There were several maintenance issues that significantly impacted our experience. The washing machine did not work at all, which was inconvenient for a longer stay. The house also had a noticeable sewage smell throughout, which made it uncomfortable to spend time inside. In the kitchen, both the refrigerator and freezer doors did not seal properly, making it difficult to keep food cold. The faucet was loose and felt like it needed repair. In the bathroom, the shower curtain was very low quality and repeatedly fell down during use. Overall, the property felt poorly maintained and did not match the value for what we paid. With some basic repairs and attention to upkeep, it could be a much better experience, but as it stands, it was significantly overpriced for the condition.”
