“This is our 4th time staying at this condo. It is perfect. We’ll come back every year that we can. It feels like our home away from home. The complex is beautiful- love the pool and the beach club. There’s a great restaurant, Napua, at the beach club and shade loungers - lots of seating and shade trees. You can usually find shade if you need shade. The views and water at this sweet little cove beach are Heavenly. Love that a gate key is included for the private parking at the beach. Love that a beautiful black sand beach is in the Mauna Lani complex. We love to ride the golf cart to have breakfast and lunch at juice 101 and Mauna Lani Coffee. We use to rent a golf cart which was simple enough, but now a very luxurious 6 seat golf cart is included with the stay. We don’t even play golf but c3 golf villas is our favorite place to stay because it is so comfortably appointed and you get amazing wide open sunrises to one side and colorful glorious sunsets to the other.”

“The home and property are absolutely stunning. You cannot see any of the surrounding homes and the view from the backyard goes on for miles without any obstructions, you can see all three peaks from the backyard on a clear day. There were cute goats and cows you could observe roaming in the distance. The hot tub was beautiful and so enjoyable. The home has so much character and is expertly maintained. The only downsides were lack of AC and 3 undisclosed cars were parked within the gated property which did mess with private feeling and incredible views a bit. Overall I would highly recommend this home to anyone who wants a unique and one-of-a-kind stay on the Big Island. The restaurants in Waimea are amazing and grocery stores are very close by making it a great location for food and shopping.”

“The house was amazing! The pool and backyard was perfect. Also the location was also great. Right next to all the resorts and shops as well as restaurants. The only down side to this entire stay was the master bedroom bed… it was stiff and hard as a park bench. Unfortunately for our entire 13 night stay I got maybe 1 good night rest when sleeping on the couch.”

“We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, spacious, and exceptionally clean. The hosts had everything we needed, including plenty of toiletries, cleaning supplies, and soap for us to use. The location was also just a 3–5 minute drive from a shopping center and a beautiful beach. During our stay, the upstairs AC unfortunately went out, but the hosts responded quickly to get a technician out to fix the issue. In the meantime, they even provided us with a portable AC unit, which we greatly appreciated. The hosts were incredibly helpful, responsive, and accommodating throughout our stay. Despite the unexpected AC issue, they handled everything as quickly and professionally as possible. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely recommend staying at this property!”

“Amazing place - stunning views, great location, great amenities”

“The location was perfect. The cove just steps from the residence was a wonderful place to snorkel, we saw beautiful tropical fish, a sea turtle, and coral. The property itself was lovely, and the room was extremely well maintained, with high-end furnishings and finishes. The restaurants on the property were good, although the choices were limited. Most additional dining options were about a 25-minute drive away. During our stay, the island was hit by a hurricane, and the residences lost electricity for two days. The resort hotel behind the residences had backup power, but the residences did not. We booked a hotel room for one night and spent the other night without electricity. Airbnb ultimately reimbursed us for the disruption. Overall, this is a beautiful place to stay, especially for the location and snorkeling. Just be aware that severe weather and power outages can occur, and the residences may not have backup power.”

“Overall, we enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the beautiful views and comfortable layout of the condo. We have stayed at a few condos in this area and would not return to this particular one. The management team was responsive and did address the issues we brought to their attention, which we were very grateful for. That said, we did encounter several things at the beginning of our stay, including wasps and other pests around the lanai, some cleanliness concerns, and noisy AC vents in the bedrooms. While these issues were addressed, we would have hoped not to encounter them in the first place, especially while on vacation.”

“The property itself was beautiful, exactly as described, and one of the nicest Airbnbs we’ve stayed in. Unfortunately, check-in was extremely frustrating and poorly organized. Immediately before our trip, South Kohala sent us detailed check-in instructions that we naturally assumed were for our rental. We followed them exactly, only to discover they were actually for an entirely different South Kohala property. This sent our family roughly 20 unnecessary miles in the wrong direction late at night after a long travel day. We then had to contact the after-hours service multiple times and spend considerable additional time locating and accessing our actual rental. I later noticed a previous reviewer had also mentioned check-in problems and wish I had paid closer attention. The property was wonderful, but South Kohala needs to improve its process for ensuring guests receive the correct arrival instructions. I was also disappointed with how the issue was ultimately handled afterward.”
