“Place was great! It was clean and was a nice place for a quick weekend stay. Also nicely priced! We loved it, will definitely come back!”

“The first-floor unit was ok, the bathroom sink and kitchenette sink are high, so hard to use. The shower is not suitable for anyone taller than 5'4". The curtain panels for the French doors do not completely cover the enter door, so there is gap. Given the unit is on the first floor, anyone walking by can see into the unit. The deadbolt lock was present but did not work. The entrance door electronic locking system was sketchy. I was not confident with the lock. I relied on the lock on the screen door. The mattresses were less than average quality.”

“This is such a great location to be! We really enjoyed the deck overlooking the water. We brought our dogs and it was a great spot to put their tie down. You are located right across from The Villa restaurant which had live music playing all afternoon on Saturday. We didn't mind because it made it enjoyable for us as we hung out while our toddler luckily slept like a rock during his nap, but something to note. Great walkability to restaurants too!”

“Great Escape West was the perfect location for us. You can’t beat the view… morning coffee on the deck looking out at the lake 🙌🏼. Nice green space outside to tie up the dog and lounge. Had more amenities than expected. They provided starter toilet paper, soap & paper towels. They also provided towels & wash cloths. There was a keurig, but we didn’t know that so didn’t bring any k-cups. They also had some kitchen utensils even though there is no oven or cooktop. The mini fridge took awhile to cool & a little larger of a fridge would have been ideal, but for two nights, we made it work. You really have to pull the exterior doors hard to shut fully. And with that, make sure you do pull the storm door tight too bc you are by the lake and there are lots of little bugs. But other than that, it was a great place & would definitely stay again!”

“Our group of three families had a wonderful visit to the great escape. Perfect location for a Kelley’s island stay.”

“This stay was okay. Upon arrival it was unclear how to access property and where to park, messaged host with no response. We found the entrance and got in. The place was as pictured and clean. Lots of may flies which is typical, wish there was a broom available to knock them off the porch. Many wasps, we could not use the deck. We contacted the host to see what to do and there was no response. We happened to run into someone who helped a few hours later and he sprayed the porch and was kind, but it did not solve the issue. Wish the host would have been more responsive. The WiFi listed on host check in instructions was not accurate and we didn’t have WiFi. Bare bones amenities already. The view was great, what is not pictured is the houses directly to the left and right of the home, this is also fine, but expected more privacy. Overall it could have been a better experience. I hope they can be more clear in the future and be more available to give guests a better stay.”
