“Pepper and Pine is a cute house that well located to take advantage of all RRG has to offer. It is a short drive to lots of hikes, waterfalls, and climbing opportunities. The short road to the house and the driveway are very steep, but manageable without 4 wheel drive. We appreciated having an SUV to get over some potholes on the road. We loved sitting in the living room and porch enjoying the peace and quiet. As noted, the stairs are definitely not safe for children or anyone with mobility issues. We appreciated having shoe storage and hiking poles available by the door. Be aware that communication with the host takes quite a while, responses to AirBnB messages took hours (at a minimum). The host provides a phone number that is answered inconsistently.”

“We liked the place. The final instructions did not match previous instructions to check in and the number we were given would not call me back. We had car problems and were concerned that we were after the 8pm normal check in. We ended up getting in after my wife left a message from her phone. I never received a call or text from them nor a response from the host.”

“Residence is not private. Actually is directly behind a major tourist attraction. Was hoping for a more private location as it’s described to be in the woods. Beds are not comfortable, so to make your stay more comfortable enjoyable bring your own personal bedding. The home itself is beautiful, but you are definitely paying for the theme and not amenities. There is minimum offered at this location for the price.”

“We loved the location and our week in Red River Gorge. The beds were relatively comfortable (always a positive), the outdoors is beautiful and peaceful, and so much natural beauty to explore in the area. I particularly loved the deck on the home, and the sofas in the living area. We gave a few suggestions to Scenic Cabin Rentals. The cleaning could definitely be kicked up a notch. The silverware could be increased. There were also a few things that were broken that we let them know about that hopefully will be fixed for the next renters.”

“This place was very nice and in a gorgeous location with incredible views. The very nice house was unique and beautiful, but a few things were a disappointment. The showers looked a bit mildewy and the floor mats in the bathroom look like they had not been washed in awhile. The floor was mostly clean in the living room, but we took off our shoes when we entered and the floor was a bit gritty and when we picked up a floor/welcome mat inside the doors, a lot of dirt fell out. They just needed shaken out really well and weren't. Finally, it is in the woods, and there was a mouse that was persistently trying to get into things on the counter. We had to move everything on the table where it couldn't reach. It knocked an empty coke bottle on the floor in the middle of the night and scared the daylights out of us. Critters are hard to get rid of, so I take no issue here. It was a beautiful place if only needing a little better cleaning.”

“Nice suprise on arrival due to remodel from pictures that looked great, but turned soon after. Swept 2 full dustpans of long black animals hair per floor, obviously don't vacuum the carpeted floors. Messaged host, no response. Heading to bed hrs later, there were hundreds of same animal hairs in all 3 beds, wet dog smell on top bedding, 3' period blood stain on mattress cover on 1 bed, fake finger nail & mouse poop under another bed's pillows & brown spatter dots on comforter&pillows. Spent an hr trying to clean beds enough for 3 people with allergies & asthma to sleep in & had to get blankets from cars to sleep under. Morning come, no host response to pics&messages. Go to office when open. They say will send cleaners back while we're out. Come back to same nasty top bedding they got out of floor & put back on!! All hair transferred back to new sheets they might have put on. 16+hr after first message, hear from host. More calls, receptionist comes out w NEW bedding from DG. Do Better!!”

“Was told enough room for us to park our trailers, but not possible.we had to leave trucks and trailers (2 of them)elsewhere for a fee. My brother and his wife decided to go elsewhere because of this. Our other guests stayed in the basement the 1st night and had to share the space with mice. We had to keep the windows and doors shut because there were no screens, some bedrooms did have them.”

“We loved the layout of the cabin but the cleanliness was an issue for us & impacted our vacation. At arrival, we found mouse poop in the kitchen cabinet, floors, & on the counter. This put us on edge leaving snacks out. We put our food in coolers nightly which was tedious. After this revelation, we started looking around the cabin and found several issues. Blueberries were found on the floor of the common areas, several drops of blood were found in 1 of the rooms, every towel that was left had stains on them. I asked for a thorough cleaning & new towels. The cleaning lady came out the next day and told me she spent 4 hours cleaning this cabin before our stay & didnt know why she was asked to come back out. She also said she was uncomfortable staying to clean while we were out, which contradicted the host's message. The experience was uncomfortable & after she spent 10 min at the cabin sweeping, mouse poop and blueberries were still there leaving the issue unresolved & no clean towels.”

“The makeshift speed bumps ripped cars apart. I couldn’t get ahold of the host till I contacted Airbnb. Mouse and mouse droppings were everywhere, as if it had never been cleaned. If it’s raining, the place has leaks. The garbage had spoiled milk in it, and it smelled horrible. They sent cleaners, and the cleaners were not the kindest or most professional cleaners overall. Overall, the view was great. Poor service from the host, but it wasn’t the worst place to stay. I definitely wouldn’t stay again. We left a day early due to rain. With the leaker and mice droppings, make sure your food isn’t left on the stove for more than 15 minutes unattended.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Diamond in the Red. The location was private and everything was as advertised. Our only complaint was slow to no response from the host during a water outage situation. We would stay here again.”
