Sands of Alabama Vacation Rentals

Sands of Alabama Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.76 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The view was lovely. The furniture was comfortable. But, upon check-in the person at the front desk told us “quiet hours” started at 10 pm. The condo next door had people on their balcony playing loud music several nights until 3 am with no consequences. It did not make for a restful vacation. There is also a very loud bar next door to the building that was open past midnight which also had loud music. The kitchen was a nice size, but we had to wash almost everything we used before we used it. If this kitchen were inspected by the health department, it would have failed. Cups and plates were ok, but cookware and utensils were dirty. The cabinets and drawers were full of crumbs. There was obviously a soda spilled down the front of one set of cabinets that had not been cleaned. The bed was comfortable but squeaked loudly when turning over which makes waking up your partner a problem. The pool and racquetball court are right below which are also noisy. Place to party, not relax.”airbnb

“This condo is so nice. It was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. We felt right at home. The first floor location makes it super convenient to access the beach or your vehicle. Check in and check out was easy. We can't wait to go back next year.”airbnb

“We had a nice stay for a week at this condo. The instructions to check in were clear and we had no issues. The turn getting into the building is a little tricky but the location is great and right on the beach. When we entered, it had a bit of a musty smell like it had been closed up. Not dirty but I wouldn’t say pristine either. We loved the balcony looking on the beach and being on the first floor is nice. Washer and dryer in room is an added bonus. The master bed is a king but not super comfortable. Otherwise, we had more than enough space for our small family. We walked most places and had a good stay overall.”airbnb

“Clean, all is as described. Not the most updated, obviously corporate run, upon arrival, 1/2 roll of toilet paper, 1/2 roll paper towels, 1 tiny bar of soap. Lots of towels was a plus and kitchen was furnished well with all the needs.”airbnb

“Condo was as described! Clean, great views, & easy access. From someone who has stayed at multiple condos in the past, I was very impressed by how quick & efficient the elevator was. Not once did we have to wait more than 30 seconds for the elevator. Loved staying at the Lighthouse!”airbnb

“This was a nice place. Early arrival was available but they sought to monetize it by the hour, which I thought was kinda lame. If the unit is free, clean and ready for occupancy, don't send me a "if you wanna check in 4 hours early it's this; this for 3 hours, etc." A hotel wouldn't do that. If you have two cars (which for a 3 bedroom unit should probably be expected) you'll need to pay an extra $50 for the second parking pass. They say this was on the website at booking (and I believe them) but it wasn't prominent. Not sure they actually incur marginal cost here. Place is pretty nice. It was clean and functional. Disposal didn't work and we couldn't seem to get the numeric keypad to actually lock the door, but it wasn't the end of the world. It's not a "luxury" property but it's a clean spacious place in a pretty nice building that's right on the ocean. I'd probably stay there again but the price is right at the upper edge of what I would have paid, now having stayed there.”airbnb

“Great place. Beautifully remodeled place and only a couple blocks from the beach. Close to restaurants and shopping. There is a dock out back and water there, so that was still nice to see. House was clean, except the floors. May just be due to the beach and the fact it may just be too hard to get rid of sand. Only issue is lack of paper towels, toilet paper and soap for dishwasher and restrooms. I understand the reason, but just a single trash bag in each can, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one dishwasher pod etc, seems to be lacking for a 4 night stay that sleeps 9, for the price we paid. Could be justified for a single night but for 4, should have had same stuff for each number of days.”airbnb
