“The view from this balcony is incredible, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, our experience with the home itself was very difficult. BEWARE - THE UNIT DOES NOT HAVE CENTRAL A/C. It is listed at the very bottom of the "amenity" section and SDVR (the host) DOES NOT NOTE THIS EXCLUSION AT ALL on their website listing (San Diego Vacation Rentals>beach-bliss-haven). The unit was over 90° inside when we arrived. The kitchen blinds (sun-facing) do not function, making it even harder to cool. The A/C units were provided. However these A/C units tripped the electrical breakers repeatedly leaving us without power frequently. Most concerning, shortly after arrival we were offered A/C units "as long as we gave a positive review". This made us very uncomfortable and caused us to QUESTION THE RELIABILITY OF THE REVIEWS we had relied upon when booking. Future guests, esp during warm weather, BEWARE of the limitations before booking unless you don't mind sleeping in 90+ degree unit!!!”

“The property was clean with a beautiful beach view, but the unreliable AC and the host’s lack of communication negatively impacted my stay. Airbnb ultimately provided a partial refund. I was also disappointed by a notice limiting AC use to 12 hours per day... which further indicates they are aware of an issue. Had me flipping breakers which is a liability and shouldn't be asked. Good things: Tons of things to cook with! Great balcony view of the beach and pier Comfy beds Lots of space for 5 of us (4 adults and a child) Shopping cart to haul stuff up from the parking garage was a lifesaver! Pool and hot tub were amazing (and open till 10pm!) Staff takes great care of the property Feels safe in the neighborhood Great places to eat in walking distance! Provided beach wagon and a few chairs Overall very clean and comfy place to stay... just wished they would've fixed the AC!”

“The condo was in a great location in Imperial Beach, but unfortunately the stay had several issues. Most importantly, there was no air conditioning for the first two days, and this was not disclosed to me before arrival. I only found out when I walked in, and the cleaning person was still there at 5 PM—about two hours after the scheduled check-in time. The condo itself was very basic, with very few amenities and nothing particularly special or upscale. The TV in the second bedroom also did not work, although that wasn’t a major issue for us. Overall, the location was nice, but the lack of AC, delayed check-in, and limited amenities made the stay less comfortable and enjoyable than expected.”

“The condo was decent overall, but I did not feel it was a great value for the price. The location was convenient, parking was included, and the ground-floor unit had a nice outdoor space. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. The condo was advertised as air conditioned, but only one bedroom had AC. The second bedroom, kitchen, and living area became extremely warm, and the ceiling fans did little to help. The property is managed by a rental agency that provided a helpful manual, but some information was inaccurate. The manual showed outdoor trash bins in a designated area, but none were there. My initial message asking about the trash went unanswered. When I followed up the next day, I was told the HOA must have removed the bin, but no alternative was provided. We went the entire week without a designated place to dispose of our trash. Overall, there were some nice features, but these issues detracted from the stay.”

“There's 0 AC. While the description says they will provide fans to cool, I assumed that meant they kept the house at 76 with AC and you could use fans for additional cooling needs. Nope. No AC, so with the windows closed, the house result reached high 80s low 90s. Felt unsafe to sleep at night with windows down, easy for someone to breakin. This created a lot of tension and the fans provided were cheap. They offered upgraded items - like a water filter - but had the cheapest water filter available. So it felt like they stated they had all these amenities, but they were low quality. The tub drain didn't work and took all night to drain after a shower. Just felt very cheap. I got numerous messages that early check in or late check out wasn't possible, I never requested either things. The access to the beach was great. My kids were so excited to be at the beach after a 3 minutes walk. It was nice for the distance to help set expectations with the kids. Mixed feelings”

“This place is a short 5 minute walk to OB, which is its best feature. I wish I would have read the description before booking as it wasn’t until we were there that we realized it had no AC. Which would have been fine if we weren’t having a heat wave in OB. And keeping the windows open at night didn’t help because (and this is something the hosts need to make clear for future bookings) the apartment is right in the path of the San Diego airport. So all night long, every 15 minutes or so, we had loud airplanes flying directly overhead. So we had to choose between being cooler and try to sleep with the noise, or close the windows and not sleep cuz of the heat. Also: no matter how many passwords the host gave us, 2/3 of the tv’s were unusable cuz you need a Direct TV login to use them. Also, we couldn’t find a broom to sweep up all the sand from walking to the beach. The location is amazing and the place was very clean. Just make sure you’re aware of the noise and no AC when booking!”

“The location, views, and unit are lovely. The bathroom smelled slightly of mold, but that’s expected being so closed to the ocean. The biggest (and only) issue we had was with the AC unit. The host provides clear instructions on how to run the AC. We did as instructed. The unit failed to cool itself below 75 degrees. We had to result to opening all of the windows to get some air flow and we were only able to cool the apartment down to 73 degrees, and that was only at night. We value a working AC almost above all other amenities. This was a major disappointment. We brought up the issue with the host and they said they would have a tech come check on it. A tech never came. The issue was not resolved. We ended up just dealing with it as our stay was so short. The views are incredible. The location is perfect for accessing shops and restaurants and the beach. Pool was nice. I wish I had nothing bad to say but we all slept uncomfortably due to the AC issues.”

“No problems checking in. We dropped our things off, went out & came back around 9:30pm. Had to double park behind a car. We weren’t sure if this was okay so I messaged Pam and no response. Ended up leaving our number on our dashboard in case we had to move our car. We didn’t get a response until the next morning about needing to park our car at the edge of the driveway so no one can park in front/behind you. Or talk to Tom in the paid parking lot & get a ticket from him. Never found Tom during our 4 night stay. The floors were filthy. We went to CVS which was the only store open after 10pm to buy cleaning supplies. We had to go over the floors 3 times until Swiffer mop wasn’t black. Pullout couch was stained, dirty and hairs all over. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable but don’t look at the mattress and all its stains. Shower is small with the longest showerhead handle which makes it impossible to wash without holding it and the door kept opening so don’t slip in the pool of water.”

“Imperial Beach Thank you for sharing your property. We loved the pots and pans as well as the dishwasher but that’s about it. With this said, the primary bathroom shower needs maintenance. One of the shower heads continuously fall off and spray water everywhere. In addition, the door lock pad is VERY frustrating when the #8 only works periodically. Also, the second bathroom has a tub that leaks and it can be heard dripping all night so the door has to be closed. Most upsetting was the fact there was NO shampoo, conditioner or body wash in the showers. I travel a lot and this is a first. Not to mention that there was Cheerios and Cheetos in the cushions of the couch and wicker chair. Finally, the tv comes on sporadically and won’t turn off unless both remotes are pushed at the same time plus the homeless people in the park below screaming until 2am wasn’t not enjoyable or relaxing. Although this place is on the beach, it’s definitely is not worth the money.”

“I’m conflicted about this review there were some positives but ultimately it was too expensive for what we got. When I brought this concern to the company they reiterated a no cancellation policy repeatedly. The house was poorly supplied with basic toiletries supporting how cheap they are. There were flat sheets instead of fitted sheets. The home had terrible airflow with no a/c and I had to ask for oscillating fans (which they supplied). The home was excessively small with a terrible layout. I rented a larger home the year prior for half the money, so I immediately felt ripped off. The ad does not outright lie, but is clearly deceptive. The home was dingy and dirty, granted there’s some degree of this expected on the beach. The beds were comfortable aside from the heat. I also find their published star system acknowledges their shortcomings as they say 5 stars means nothing went terribly wrong. No, 5 stars means it was exceptional. 2 stars is generous. Won’t stay again.”
