Sail Away Vacation Rentals

Sail Away Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.59 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“I spent majority of my time on the phone contacting air bnb for support for issues with maintenance that the host was not fixing in a timely manner. We arrived to the unit and unloaded (multiple elevators were broken, no carts, took forever). Then we wake to find all of our groceries spoiled. The fridge was not working. Contacted the host and waited almost a full day before they sent out maintenance to our unit and had to get air bnb support because the host was not being helpful. maintenance lady arrived tried to blame us for the fridge not working. Another guy with her was pointing out issues with the fridge and she shut him down. Stove door handle was broken and so was the door to the patio. I had to bypass the host and contact air bnb to get anything fixed. The description says “ample cookware” and there was not a single pot or pan. It was a horrible experience. I feel like I wasted my one vacation of the year and spent it/came home more stressed than I was when I left for the trip”airbnb

“Our stay was great the condo we originally booked was double booked so we got upgraded to Mariner’s west on the 4th floor. Views were amazing but the elevator was broken so had to walk up several flights of stairs and I have a bad back so that wasn’t fun.”airbnb

“I really did not enjoy my stay at Sail Away’s. Getting to our room was a hassle and we had to wait almost 15 minutes for an elevator. The elevator’s and hallways were dirty and not to MY standard of temporary living. Majority of the elevators in the garages were broken which required us to walk flights of stairs with heavy luggage. Once to our room, we noticed some of the sheets were dirty with hair and stains, as well as the living room couch. The outlets were not working, only in certain rooms of the apartment. I don’t think I would stay at Sail Away’s again.”airbnb

“The condo itself was clean, comfortable, and matched the listing photos well. However, the kitchen supplies were poorly organized, making even simple meals frustrating. Basics commonly provided at Airbnbs — salt, pepper, dishwasher detergent, shampoo, and conditioner — were missing, which made the stay feel unnecessarily nickel-and-dimed. The listing was also misleading about the overall experience. This was not a typical standalone beach Airbnb, but part of a massive resort with extremely strict policies that were not clearly communicated upfront. Everyone had to be over 25 with ID verification, and there was zero flexibility on pet weight restrictions, forcing me to make separate arrangements for my dog. On top of that, there was a $300 pet fee plus parking fees hidden in the fine print. Communication was poor as well. I waited over 26 hours for a reply about early check-in, only to be asked to pay $100 extra for a couple of hours early.”airbnb

“Unit smelled great on entry and appeared to be initially clean, but found not completely cleaned. Sheets in master were not changed. Found nail clippings in bed. Mattress in master stained. Some area of the Floors and some walls were dirty. Stains in refrigerator, kitchen counter and table. Some flying insects seen inside home. Water in the 2nd bathroom did not get hot. Dry doesn’t work properly. Items never dried after multiple attempts. Check out for my reservation was initially at 9. I questioned why and was not provided a response. Later received information that showed check out at 12. Left at 830. I didn’t want any issues.”airbnb

“Great location, quick walk to the beach. Not walking distance to restaurants, you will have to drive. Plan to bring household essentials, like trash bags as there are none, as well as toilet paper and salt and pepper. Very bare minimum but it works, just plan to pack a lot of typical home necessities even if staying for a couple days.”airbnb

“The overall stay was good. The condo looked like the pictures. The view from the rooftop balcony was beautiful! However, the code to our door didn't work when we first got there. We called and got a new one that seemed to work. Then that code didn't work to get us back in later that evening so we had small children out in the chilly night who were just coming out of the pool/hot tub waiting to get into our condo. Very frustrating as they are small children ranging from ages 11 to 1. Finally they gave us one that worked for the remainder of our stay. The gate code to come back into the condos from the beach didn't work, luckily someone was able to give us the code that actually opened the gate to let us in. (Yes, we followed the instructions on how to use both codes given to us before we got there.) After we got all of that out of the way, we had a very nice stay and it was nice to be right on the beach!”airbnb

“This was actually the worst vacation ever. Do not stay here, no internet couldn’t watch the TV. There was a smell through the entire condo. A cleaning company had to come and get the stain out of the mattress. Reaching out to someone to expect for them to solve the problem is a wast. Don’t waste your time. The front door lock doesn’t even work. My experience was terrible and wouldn’t never stay here again.”airbnb

“Can’t recommend it. Between unclear and sometimes contradictory check in instructions to rude concierge staff, check in was a nightmare. They didn’t even describe how to navigate the parking tower. Plus, several surprise check in fees including $300 for an extra pet (we don’t pay it). And a 9 am check out. You have to pay extra for a reasonable check out time. Did I mention they don’t even provide toilet paper? This is a competitive market with lots of condo options on the beach. You don’t need to stay in this one.”airbnb

“My stay at this Airbnb was very disappointing and did not match the listing. The photos online were misleading, as the actual interior looked different and not as well maintained as advertised. Upon arrival, I also noticed a lack of basic necessities. There was no extra toilet paper, no paper towels, and no dish soap available, which made simple daily tasks inconvenient. Additionally, there were no toiletries like shampoo or conditioner provided, which is something many guests reasonably expect. Overall, the space felt unprepared for guests and lacked attention to detail. Having to go out and purchase essential items during a short stay was frustrating and avoidable. I would recommend the host update the listing photos to accurately reflect the property and ensure that basic supplies are stocked for future guests. We did enjoy the area and being so close to the beach! Overall had good cleanliness”airbnb
