Rivers Retreats Properties
4.62Visit website
Rivers Retreats Properties's guest rating of 4.62 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“-First of all, they changed my location about 30 mins before my check in time, and when I got to the place the door lock wasn’t working so there was no way of getting in. -Beds are not comfortable at all, and also bedding wasn’t as clean. -cleaning of the house wasn’t as good, bathrooms weren’t as clean as it’s supposed to so we had to buy cleaning supplies and do it ourselves. -no curtains on windows and blinds were broken -no extra kitchen bags In conclusion, they need to work on better habits to welcome their guests, I didn’t have a good experience.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The host informed us that the fee had changed and that we were required to pay an additional $100 early check-in fee. This charge was not clearly communicated to us beforehand, and we were given inconsistent information regarding the amount of the fee. We believe guests should be provided with accurate and consistent pricing before making arrangements to stay at a property. In addition, when we informed them that the fire pit was not working; they ask if we could take the propane tank to the gas station to be refilled and they would reimburse us. However, we were not able to this because it would have created an additional inconvenience during what was supposed to be a relaxing stay over the weekend.”airbnb

“This property was of decent value for a long term stay. The furniture was nice and closely resembled the pictures. Although the host was very responsive, they were often unable to answer questions or address our needs in a timely manner during our stay. These issues included accessing the property gate, using the mailbox, and obtaining parking passes. Additionally, when we arrived, the hot water did not work and the paper towel holder was missing from the wall. Overall, the property was clean and in a nice location, but the number of issues and miscommunications during our stay was frustrating.”airbnb

“House needs a lot of upkeep inside and out. Bathtub in master was very dirty, trash cans outside was overflowing when arrived. Pool area was filthy, stuck food on outside table, trash wrappers all outside on floor. Fan in master doesn’t work, don’t try to open the nightstands in master they will fall apart. Dirty underwear in bedroom on floor. Not sure what there cleaners do! Dead bugs and roaches several places inside.”airbnb

“We only booked the house because of the pool and hot tub. Based on the reviews we messaged before booking and we’re told that they both were in working order. Unfortunately, that was not true. It did not work our entire stay. Also there is a fee we were told was 60 then we were told it was 100. Unfortunately there is more than one host. The heating fee only was refunded at the end for heating fee but still had zero days using the pool/hot tub. Pool man was found in the back yard on two different occasions without being notified and my daughters were outside made communication to hosts and it happened again. The house itself has a great layout, but unfortunately it was booked for the pool/hot tub.”airbnb

“We stayed at this location for a baseball tournament. It was a same day reservation because our other reservation didn't have A/C. The inside of the home was perfect, well maintained & the A/C worked great. Did have a few issues with the home. The yard was not maintained. The grass was about 3 ft high which kept us to only a small path from the driveway to the front door. The owner did notify us of this before we got there & said it would be mowed the next day. 2 days later we messaged & said it would be mowed the next. Then the day we left they said it would be mowed. Don't know if it ever did get mowed. But we were afraid because of snakes with it being so high. The oven did not work. They sent a technician out & said it basically needed to be replaced. The dishwasher & a TV in one of the rooms did not work. Also, the kitchen was slim on dishes. The beds were comfy with lots of room and we made the best of our stay. Great place to stay once a few things get corrected.”airbnb

“DO NOT STAY HERE. The AC struggled to keep the home cool, the garage access was unreliable, and the fenced yard was not secure for dogs. There were holes in the fence and sections coming apart, so I couldn’t safely let my dogs outside. There was also a strong pet odor throughout the home. As an animal lover, I assumed previous reviews about the smell were exaggerated, but in my experience they were accurate. It was especially noticeable when the AC wasn’t working properly. The communication was the most concerning part. After I explained I wasn’t available during scheduled repairs, the host told me he would let repair personnel into the home using the door code while I was away, despite my not consenting. As a solo mom traveling with my young child, this made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I asked that all communication go through Airbnb Support, but the host continued contacting me directly. I spent several nights elsewhere and would not stay here again.”airbnb

“Ten tries on door lock before open. Thought we had wrong code. Also took several tries to lock. I recd notice of WiFi code but hard to find the message when needed. Dish washer isn’t hooked to water and wasn’t told until recd checking out info. We pulled everything out to put in sink.”airbnb

“My stay was terrible from the beginning when i was having trouble with code to get in, please if you don't want the police to be called on you and neighbors stocking and a host causing assumptions. This is not a peaceful stay nor great host.i came here to getaway from the city and heal, end up being a nightmare traumatizing experience i can not afford or have my time wasted on such pettiness. “Our family was very disappointed. Our young adult kids and their partners were celebrating the oldest daughter’s 25th birthday. We are an active family and picked a home that we thought would provide a fun place to stay regardless of the weather. The hot tub did not work the minute we arrived and there was never an attempt to fix it. Based on previous reviews, it appears the hot tub has not been working properly for about 8 months. This should have been disclosed at the time of booking. Further, the ceiling fan in the master was not working and this was also a previous problem. They allowed dogs, but charged us extra for our 15lb pocket puggle (3rd dog). And tried to charge us extra for an early check in as the check-in is so late at 5pm. After many messages they allowed a 3pm checkin with no additional fee. We did enjoy how spacious the home was, and the butler pantry was a nice touch. No room to play pool, no grill and we could have used more towels. We won’t be back.”airbnb
