River Town Rentals's guest rating of 4.78 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Disappointed as you can very much tell this is ran by a property management company. We had a 14 hour drive. Found we might be arriving early, asked if possible to check in early, there would be a $50 early check in charge, but they wanted me to let them know as soon as I was gone. Tried the door code 23 minutes prior to 4 and was unable to get in, the door code did work at 3:55. Expressed the WiFi was not working and I kept getting the same automated response, finally gave up and we all watched our phones for weather as there was lightning in the area. Bugs were found in the kitchen and the bathroom. 1 towel per guest, no Kleenex, and no extra blankets. I was told to put the trash container on the curb for trash day and the trash did not run that day. Had never been asked to do that as I would think the property management company would do that.”airbnb

“This property is old, dirty, and in disrepair. Not as Photos show! The host never answered emergency line, but would send a message in the app after leaving a message. Trash ALL OVER yard, overflowing trash container, knee-high grass. Yard maintenance arrived w/o notice and refused to leave (day b/f check out). Major privacy breach for private oasis:( No outdoor lighting on porch or pool (could not use PM, too dark). Dead plants. Moldy porch furniture. Pool has dozens of broken/missing tiles...dirty/old...no skimmer! Multiple broken closet doors (1 dresser/entire house). Dirty bathroom sink, caulk in tub, & broken towel hooks. Broken dishwasher (floods floor & regurgitates in sink). Bolt lock door to carport so no covered entry. Security bars over windows prevent emergency exit. Hard, uncomfortable beds & pillows. Dirty, stained sofa and only one other chair to sit (8 ppl). Broken ceiling fan. Broken/missing decor. Very small for 8! Good: Lots of hot water & convenience to attractions.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, I can't give this stay a positive review. During the night, I discovered what appeared to be evidence of bed bugs and felt bites while sleeping. I immediately notified the host and sent photos. They responded quickly and said someone would inspect the unit, but I never received any follow-up about the inspection or a resolution before my stay ended. I appreciate that they responded to my messages, but this issue significantly affected my stay. For the price we paid, I expected a clean, comfortable place to sleep. I hope this issue is thoroughly addressed for future guests.”airbnb

“We booked this home for a few day trip to visit my daughter stationed at Fort Benning. For the pictures it looked like the perfect place so we reached out to see if if our non-shedding Yorkie could be an exception since the property listed no pets and they rejected that it’s very strict policy , which is fine so we had her boarded. After paying premium prices and going the extra steps to have our Yorkie boarded, the instant we walk in this home we smell a very heavy stale cigarette smell and that never let up the entire weekend. Then after reaching out, she wants the argue with me that I must be mistaken because they inspect the house before our arrival and that wasn’t reported to them so we must be wrong. The couches are heavily stained, bathrooms have hair on the floors and in sinks that I had to clean and the beds are hard as a rock. The “game room” is in the garage and hot as ever! I do not recommend this place and will never stay here again.”airbnb

“The place was beautiful and as described. However, there were some cleanliness issues. There were dirty dishes in the cabinet, dirty sheets on the king bed and on the twin pull out bed. The shower also constantly ran, even with the water off. The constant shower noises were loud, and the water always running made the entire place so humid the AC couldn't keep up and the bathroom door swelled so much it couldn't be closed. These are easy things to fix, but we couldn't get help while we were there for 5 days.”airbnb

“When we first arrived we noticed a lot of trash outside water bottles, cigarettes butts, food wrapper etc. I reached out to the owner and she apologized. We examined the home to find a ball of hair in one of the bedrooms along with soda bottles under the bed. My children were so excited to play in the pool until we saw worms in the bottom. We could have cleaned it with a net but one was not provided. I reached out to the owners and was assured the pool was safe to swim . I told her my children are terrified of worms. She apologized. I was never offered anything for my inconvenience. After reading the review I’m more aware the pool has been dirty by another guest. The whole trip was for the pooI she assured me it cleaned Thursday before we arrived. The beds were uncomfortable we even tried sleeping on the couch which was a little better. The home is older and still needs some TLC. We were disappointed. The mower came on Saturday with no warning.”airbnb

“The house is nothing like the photos. it was very in accurate of the outside, location, and the pictures were not what you get. The house inside is cute but needs some work, and maintenance. The outside was horrible. not well maintained, trash and dangerous glass in yard, drive way not easy to get in and out of, the pool was dangerous (pool light was sitting outside of pool with wires still attached, and dirty) i do not recommend this listing at all.”airbnb

“first, the house is hidden from view and behind 1705 and they dont explain it to you, and the front gate is broken. i arrive at 2 am and they didnt give us a valid door code it pouring the property is flooded and theu want to to trouble shoot the lock FOR 20 MINUTES JUST TO UNLOCK IT REMOTELY. It did not matter that I was the paying guest who just drove 6 hours and was getting soaked on their flooded unsafe walkway. did i need to get soaked? of course it was a call center. the pavers are uneven my husband and i fell. The pool table is a "fisher price" version and the pool sticks were falling apart. There was a dead roach on the wall. There is no welcome packet explaining the hpuse and where things were at, they had no salt and pepper.”airbnb

“The home was in a quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the large tub in the main bathroom. Decor was interesting... a large bear rug on the wall in the main bedroom was an interesting choice. Disappointed that the electronic lock did not work, and it was suggested that I purchase a replacement battery and follow the directions in a youtube video to change them.... yea no. The rental served the purpose.”airbnb
