“Wish I could leave a better review about this place but unfortunately, it was not what my family and I expected for our stay. The home is very old and outdated with a pungent and uncomfortable smell from the moment you open the door. The entire place was dusty and felt untidy. The bathroom was dirty, just felt unsanitary to use/shower. The window sills were full of dead bugs, dust, and spider webs. The carpet had numerous stains and the blankets and bedding just stunk as if they hadn’t been washed in ages and the beds were so uncomfortable, everyone preferred the couches. There was only 1 A/C in the living room and it did not help much. The outdoor patio was dirty and so was the hot tub, full of dead bugs and twigs from the surrounding trees. The place has potential but needs lots of work to make it worth the price of the stay. Dionne was very kind and helpful when it came to responding in a timely manner, we just hoped the home was better kept for our stay.”

“Great location and as pictured. I booked last minute and the host was very responsive to my questions. I took 2 stars off for the check-in process and overall cleanliness/comfort. While I booked on Airbnb, the booking ended up going through a rental property. I had to drive to the other end of town to pick up the key and sign 10 pages of papers requiring a ridiculous amount of signatures and initials. Then drive back again to return the key. Not what I’m used to for Airbnb. The place was tidy but could have been cleaner (noticeable dust/cobwebs, coffee pot not cleaned out, toilet, etc.). I loved having a front porch but the only seating was a knobby wooden 90° bench. Cute, but incredibly uncomfortable. I would have loved to just kick back and enjoy a glass of wine but no comfortable spot to sit. Lastly, a neighbor came knocking on my door to see if I was legitimately staying there. They must know it’s a rental so it shouldn’t be weird to see different people there each week?”

“This host needs to bring all maintenance up-to-date. Front door wouldn’t lock screw sticking out of the floorboards house smells filthy toilet wouldn’t flush showerhead spilling everywhere tub drain won’t work, etc..”

“Such an adorable cabin for the kids to play at, first time staying in big bear and it was the coziest experience! Would highly recommend this spot with kids or even just a sweet romantic getaway!”
