Manager Review

Pure Voyage

Pure Voyage's guest rating of 4.68 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This place was great. It was exactly how it is described in the app. It's close to restaurants and shopping centers. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of space for the four of us. We will definitely use this place when we are back in town.

We were stoked to stay here, but when we got there, roaches greeted us at the door and inside the house. Plus, the place hadn't been cleaned from the last renters. The host said he'd send someone to clean, but it never happened. We decided the roaches and dirty house were enough for us to cancel the rest of our stay. Even with a dirty, infested home, he still took 20%. But Airbnb saw the pictures and videos and was just as grossed out as we were, so they made it right. Maybe his cleaning crew let him down, and he's not local to see everything that goes on, so I hope he learns from this and uses the 20% he took from us to hire a pest exterminator and a better cleaning service.

Nice view and apartment! Apartment provided cups, plates and cooking supplies. Cleanliness 2/10. Bathroom and kitchen weren’t the best. Couch cushions filling were outside of the casing and unable to zip up. Parking 5/10. Neighborhood 6/10.

Upon arrival, parking was unexpectedly difficult. We waited approximately 30 minutes for the host to open the garage, with very slow communication after a long drive. Considering the $100 garage parking fee, the delay and inconvenience were unacceptable. When entering the loft, we found food left on the kitchen counter, trash not taken out, and the dining area unclean. Both bedrooms had unchanged sheets, dirty bathrooms, and towels left on the floor. We attempted to contact the host but received delayed responses and no immediate accommodations. We were told cleaners would arrive the following day, which was not acceptable as we could not sleep in dirty sheets. We were forced to move to a different downstairs unit despite having paid for the penthouse. We were only able to return to a properly cleaned penthouse the next day at 10 AM.

We selected this place based on the reviews we had read, but our experience was definitely not like those. We planned to stay for 11 nights at the cost of nearly 7000$, so if I were hosting I would have made absolutely sure the place was clean prior to the guests arrival. The first thing that we noticed when we pulled up was the abandoned vehicles in the neighborhood, two of which were directly against the property. once we pulled into the driveway, we noticed the door was wide open and a maintenance guy with a dog comes out (beautiful dog by the way). He explained that nobody was expected to be at the property and a deep cleaning which would take several hours was underway. I then called Jay to let him know the situation, and his initial reply was just wait for them to clean it. he seemed unprofessional and didnt even apologize during our initial conversation about it. Eventually we got our stay cancelled via time stamped pictures we sent to customer support of how dirty it was.

Unfortunately few trash bags left on the back deck. Full trash bin in front of the house was sitting there for a couple of days awaiting pick up. Animals got to the trash left on the back deck leaving the trash spread out all over the deck and backyard. Every night it was getting worse & worse. Awful smell inside the house when we walked in. Contacted the host and was told the previous tenant left food behind hence the smell. From what the host stated the place was NOT cleaned right after the last tenant. It was cleaned on the day we arrived. Clearly there was a gap between the last tenant moving out and us arriving. Place should have been cleaned and trash removed right after the previous tenant moved out and NOT on the day we were arriving. Living room sofa smelled bad. Seems it was wet cleaned and NOT properly dried. Smelled like mold! Very dusty/dirty floor air vents as well as the wall return vents. We took pictures! There are more issues to be mentioned but only 1000 characters

Overall convenient location given proximity to public transportation and nice, spacious place with views. Needs more hands-on maintenance though, lots of broken furniture and missing items to make it a comfortable stay.

The old couch is a disgrace. It was covered up by a throw; very unhygienic. Owner refused to replace couch. The hardwood floor is only in the living area; both bedrooms have old shag carpet. Bldg is far from any walkable amenities. The garage is dirty and dusty; never seen anything like it — had to wash car every week. Circuiting in kitchen was busted — moved toaster to dining area. The dining table was badly chipped and chairs had horrible cushioning; hurt to sit down on them. Very old pots and pans, albeit clean. Unfortunately we prepaid for a month & could not move out. The parking fee of $350 was excessive compared to other properties (at $150 only) & we did not want our Mercedes to sit on the street overnight due to security concerns. I took pictures of the couch, if AirBnB would like. Overall a very bad deal for $6,000 rental. Never again, and advise others against this listing.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this listing. Cleanliness was a significant issue — the kitchen floor was sticky with visible spills, counters and appliances were dirty, and there was a spill left in the fridge. The bathroom had hair throughout and an old soap bar left behind. Towels (4 total for 2 guests over 4 nights) were stained and one had a hole. Lightbulbs were out in nearly every fixture and the shower curtain was missing hooks. WiFi was very slow. Most concerning was the host communication. The host requires all communication through a third-party site rather than Airbnb — an inconvenience that benefits only them. Check-in instructions were confusing and some steps were inaccurate — the provided codes didn’t work, leaving my son and me stuck outside an unfamiliar building for over 10 minutes. The host was impatient and dismissive during this stressful situation, and stopped responding when I followed up about the uncleaned floors. Guests deserve better support than this.

I’m not going to say much and I don’t think it was intentional but I do think there wasn’t enough done to solve the problem. I flew to dc for my birthday to a room that was not cleaned. He offered for me to stay an another hotel on my expense and he will have it cleaned the next day. I asked for a refund instead because it put a bad taste in my mouth. He proceeded to ask me to cancel instead of canceling my reservation . I called support and they canceled the account and fully refunded me. I will never recommend this location.
