Manager Review

Pure Voyage

Pure Voyage's guest rating of 4.66 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Probably the worst Air B + B I’ve stayed in. Just not very nice at all. Broken blinds, haphazard finishes, not very clean. Arrived to find that there was no fitted sheet or mattress pad on mattress. Just a flat sheet. Uncovered the flat sheet to find hair from other guests and stains. Really grossed me out honestly and that made it very hard to feel comfortable in the space. Went out and bought my own sheets. Left my dogs there one night for dinner and we locked the lock on the door instead of the deadbolt. The dogs were barking probably from upstairs noise and we went back to the apartment immediately to quiet them down. We spent 30 minutes trying to get back into the apartment because the door handle was locked and not unlockable from the outside. There were no instructions not to lock the door handle; I realized after there was just a piece of masking tape on the door handle. There was the most insane noise from upstairs from 10-4:30 am. We left one night early.

This is NOT a luxury Airbnb nor is there a garage. The jacuzzi is not outside. The water in the bathroom sinks doesn’t get warm. The place is very large and there was close nothing in the kitchen. We asked for plates and metal pots and pans. There were no condiments, a few spices which were very old. The master bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet and the mattress was stained. Most of the bedrooms did not have chests of drawers or any other furniture besides a bed and one chair. We could go on and on about the shape and low quality of this mismanaged Airbnb. Obviously no one is checking up on this dilapidated house.

My fiance and I chose this location in Springfield as a halfway point on our drive home from SC back to NY. We rented one night as this was just a place to rest before getting back on the road. As soon as we walked through the door this unbearable smell hit us right in the face. Not just one room, the ENTIRE HOUSE smelt like a sewage leak/human feces. After driving 9 hours & arriving at 7:30pm we were not happy. We contacted the host immediately. We paid $689, requested at least half our money back. The host offered a full refund but we needed to leave. Unfortunately all our money was tied into this rental, we weren’t able to go anywhere else. He offered a member of his team to come over, it was late at night & we didn’t feel comfortable with that. He only refunded us $210. The smell was so bad it woke us up at 5am, we left. My fiancé & I both had headaches when we woke up & the whole day after we left. I then requested 100% refund because of how dangerous that smell was. He denied.

IWhile the property is clean, nicely furnished, and well-located, our stay was deeply marred by the host's unhelpful and tone-deaf management. As overseas diplomats evacuated due to the conflict in the Middle East, we needed a reliable temporary residence for three weeks. Ahead of booking, I explained our situation to the host, Jay, and requested extra linens and towels. He assured me the house had extras, and I extended our reservation based on that promise. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find exactly one face towel and one bath towel per person for the entire 21 days. When I tried to reason with him, Jay was completely dismissive. Furthermore, he charged an undisclosed fee for our cat, despite the listing explicitly stating pets were allowed with no mention of supplemental fees. Throughout our stay, Jay was consistently rude and lacked basic empathy during a highly stressful time for my family. Due to his hostile communication and deceptive fees, I strictly do not recommend him.

The unit itself was clean, modern, and comfortable, with everything needed for a month-long stay. Unfortunately the operational side made this the most stressful Airbnb experience I've ever had. Check-in: the garage remote wasn't with the keys. I spent 30 minutes waiting to reach the host and ultimately had to enter a different unit he rents to retrieve one. Packages: the building's Amazon locker codes never worked, so deliveries had to be rerouted offsite for the entire month (partly a building issue, but unresolved throughout). Checkout: my car was towed at 1:40 AM on checkout morning for "no permit displayed" despite my paying for a full month of parking. No permit was ever provided or mentioned. Recovering the car cost $270 and derailed my checkout. The host said he would cover the tow fee, then stopped responding entirely after checkout. If you book: get parking requirements in writing and confirm a permit is in your car. Comfortable unit, but I can’t recommend the experience.

Worst airBnB experience to date. Pin code provided by host didn't work and had to be let in by a resident; homeless people were camped out by the building. Car was towed on 2nd night because host had not obtained permission for us to park there despite having been advised that we had cars and despite our inquiry about paying for the parking. Host then tried to blame us for the incident, claiming he didn't know in advance that we were going to have cars, even though our first message advised we would be having cars. Couldn't get a parking permit from management of the building, as host then suggested, because it was the 4th of July and desk for apartment wasn't open. Our bikes were stolen from car bike rack in the same parking lot, and police advised that area is a hot spot for theft and other crime. Apartment advertised for 6 people, had towels and mugs for 2 people. When more towels were delivered, they had Walmart tags on them so had to be washed and had to buy detergent to do so.

Overall, we appreciate the opportunity to stay here, but unfortunately the experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the premium price of over $600 USD per night. At this price point, we expected the property and the hosting experience to better match what was advertised. One of the biggest disappointments was that the unit did not match the listing photos. Specifically: The decorative painting shown above the bed is not there. The bed is different from the one pictured in the listing. The desk shown in the photos is not in the room. The silver metal chair shown beside the desk is also missing. While each of these may seem like small differences individually, together they create a noticeably different look and feel from what guests are led to expect when booking. The room feels much more basic than the listing photos suggest. Updating the listing photos to reflect the current furnishings would help set more accurate expectations for future guests. Pros: The apartment is spacious and the location is convenient. The refrigerator works. Cons: Unfortunately, the unit is severely worn out, poorly maintained, and did not meet basic cleanliness standards upon arrival. When we tried to checked in at 4pm, the unit was not ready and completely uncleaned with hair all over the floors, used pizza boxes in the fridge, cigarettes, and trash left behind. We were told to leave and return two hours later, only for the cleaning crew to do a quick pass leaving a persistent stale odor and dirty floors. We did not have towels the first 24 hours of our stay. The photos on the listing are outdated and do not reflect the current condition. The living room couch is a completely different style and color, the living room blinds are broken, and the mattress is heavily worn out and caused severe back and neck pain. Furthermore, the unit has ongoing maintenance issues.

Please note there are no outside pictures for a reason. Trust google, it’s sketchy to say the least.,it’s next to. a. Bus station and many people are just hanging around, upon arrival we stopped at a bodega. For milk and light supplies and my wife was harassed going in and out of the place… We were legit worried and the car given we saw 4 cars on blocks being stripped on the way in…maybe we had a bad route via Google Maps but it was our experience Not recommended. I assume the extensive secondary background check is because of the locale and the owner is worried about theft or parties but it’s way to intrusive for a couple on a work trip. Moved to capital hilton was very happy
