“The reviews talking about the views are accurate. Amazing southern views looking towards the Capitol and Washington Monument. Tons of restaurants, cafes, groceries, and shops in the Shaw district and about a 20 min stroll to the White House area. Host was very responsive. I have 2 issues: 1. the process of getting inside is way too difficult. 3-4 different websites and codes, different people to text based on if your issue is parking or the unit, garage is not marked and the description is very lacking. 2. The place needs a punchlist. In other reviews, there seem to be several small issues over time that the host fixes but then other issues arise. Our issues were blinds did not work, outdoor chairs not stable, sink backed up. Each time the host responded and offered to remedy if it was something we were concerned about but we were only here 2 days so it wasn't worth it. I'd recommend they do a full inspection and just get the place up to par for the amount that is charged.”

“This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with Airbnb. I booked the property for six days, but the conditions were so bad that I left on day three. The place was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The bathroom was filthy, the kitchen was even worse, there were broken chairs, and there was hair everywhere. The lack of cleanliness and basic maintenance made the stay incredibly unpleasant. I would not recommend this property to anyone.”

“BEWARE. Dishonest host — misrepresented the bed size. The listing advertised a king, we arrived to a queen. When we asked for a discount, he edited the listing to queen and told us it had always said queen. Airbnb investigated and confirmed the original listing said king. Screenshot the listing before you arrive — this host will change it after you’re booked.”

“The place was great, however the host was not. Communication seemed to be done through an AI chat bot until called out, when communication style changed. There was zero flexibility given based on unforeseen military/federal orders. All check in and unit details were communicated using an independent website, a site that looked like it was created by the host rather than providing the info directly through the Airbnb listing. He also allowed a previous guest to come up to the unit to look for some stuff that they had lost, even after we confirmed that it was not there based on our searching. While the place was great, there is no way I would consider staying at any place hosted by this group.”

“Great location but the place itself can be cleaner. some dust was present on the floors and counters, weird medicine tablet spilled on the kitchen counter that I looked up was pantoprazole. bathroom towels need to be replaced as they had holes and the mattress was on the smaller side for two people to share and was not comfortable. Couch was not comfortable and had a lot of stains and TV remote did not work. Jay was quick to respond and check in was easy. we did enjoy the location, kitchen and walkability”

“There is probably just one thing going well for this place and that’d be location. Besides that there are several issues. While I was there, the building lost power. We dint have power for almost a whole day. Couldn’t make coffee or use the kitchen without it. Secondly, the entrance to the place and access is through the side which looks like a fire exit. The photos on here are a bit deceiving since you don’t have access to the pretty road facing building. It is a walk up of couple of floors through the side entrance so if you have multiple bags I’d reconsider. Third, they use a separate portal besides Airbnb not just for ID verification but to share door code and other details. The bathroom did not have any toiletries and I had to go shopping on the first day for shampoo to body wash. The microwave wasn’t working and a gentleman showed up unannounced opening the door to drop it off. The place doesn’t have a tv but a projector. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again. Thanks.”

“Probably the worst Air B + B I’ve stayed in. Just not very nice at all. Broken blinds, haphazard finishes, not very clean. Arrived to find that there was no fitted sheet or mattress pad on mattress. Just a flat sheet. Uncovered the flat sheet to find hair from other guests and stains. Really grossed me out honestly and that made it very hard to feel comfortable in the space. Went out and bought my own sheets. Left my dogs there one night for dinner and we locked the lock on the door instead of the deadbolt. The dogs were barking probably from upstairs noise and we went back to the apartment immediately to quiet them down. We spent 30 minutes trying to get back into the apartment because the door handle was locked and not unlockable from the outside. There were no instructions not to lock the door handle; I realized after there was just a piece of masking tape on the door handle. There was the most insane noise from upstairs from 10-4:30 am. We left one night early.”

“This is NOT a luxury Airbnb nor is there a garage. The jacuzzi is not outside. The water in the bathroom sinks doesn’t get warm. The place is very large and there was close nothing in the kitchen. We asked for plates and metal pots and pans. There were no condiments, a few spices which were very old. The master bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet and the mattress was stained. Most of the bedrooms did not have chests of drawers or any other furniture besides a bed and one chair. We could go on and on about the shape and low quality of this mismanaged Airbnb. Obviously no one is checking up on this dilapidated house.”

“IWhile the property is clean, nicely furnished, and well-located, our stay was deeply marred by the host's unhelpful and tone-deaf management. As overseas diplomats evacuated due to the conflict in the Middle East, we needed a reliable temporary residence for three weeks. Ahead of booking, I explained our situation to the host, Jay, and requested extra linens and towels. He assured me the house had extras, and I extended our reservation based on that promise. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find exactly one face towel and one bath towel per person for the entire 21 days. When I tried to reason with him, Jay was completely dismissive. Furthermore, he charged an undisclosed fee for our cat, despite the listing explicitly stating pets were allowed with no mention of supplemental fees. Throughout our stay, Jay was consistently rude and lacked basic empathy during a highly stressful time for my family. Due to his hostile communication and deceptive fees, I strictly do not recommend him.”

“Pros: The apartment is spacious and the location is convenient. The refrigerator works. Cons: Unfortunately, the unit is severely worn out, poorly maintained, and did not meet basic cleanliness standards upon arrival. When we tried to checked in at 4pm, the unit was not ready and completely uncleaned with hair all over the floors, used pizza boxes in the fridge, cigarettes, and trash left behind. We were told to leave and return two hours later, only for the cleaning crew to do a quick pass leaving a persistent stale odor and dirty floors. We did not have towels the first 24 hours of our stay. The photos on the listing are outdated and do not reflect the current condition. The living room couch is a completely different style and color, the living room blinds are broken, and the mattress is heavily worn out and caused severe back and neck pain. Furthermore, the unit has ongoing maintenance issues.”
