Pure Home River Property Management's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. “I stayed at this property previously & was so disappointed that this visit fell significantly below basic standards. The home was not properly cleaned before arrival. The floors & bathroom areas were dirty & there were dead flies throughout the entire space; including in the bed, which I unfortunately didn’t discover until the morning after my first night. Check in was a hassle. I was given the wrong lockbox code & had to contact the host to finally get inside. Once in, the thermostat was set above 80 degrees on an already hot day & despite my repeated attempts to lower it, it was set to automatically rise every couple hours, so we were uncomfortably hot the entire stay. After checkout, I was contacted multiple times & accused of stealing the keys, with demands that I return them. I had in fact returned them to the lockbox when checking out. The host later verified the keys were found, but I received no acknowledgment or apology. I’d encourage future guests to find another option.”airbnb

“Bourbon on the Hill was overall a good location for our stay, within walking distance of downtown Frankfort and a reasonable drive to distilleries and other attractions. The rental is close to the road, so there is traffic noise, though the provided sound machine helped. There are several areas for improvement. The rental felt much smaller than the listing photos suggest and would be cramped for four guests. The property also needs better cleaning and maintenance—we found dust and dead bugs under the bed, old trash and rotting food in a cabinet where the trash can was previously located, hair in a “new” dish sponge, crumbs on the stove, and a stained mattress protector after removing sheets for checkout. There was also exposed wiring in one bedroom. Additionally, we reported a clogged bathroom sink upon arrival, but no one addressed it during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, but better upkeep would have greatly improved the experience.”airbnb

“Not recommended. Towels were dirty. One bed was unmaid upon arrival. One window was down & screens were off. Bedroom windows don’t lock. Wifi didn’t work.”airbnb

“The house was in a good location and clean. Worked for what we needed. Pictures did not accurately portray what was available (no tv in a bedroom, living room furniture not same as in pictures as well as outdoor furniture showed at least 2 chairs and only one present). Description notes room for 2 cars in driveway but it was very steep— one car was on an incline. Asked a question and host sought clarification and once given never answered. But did receive a message the day of checkout noting how found items would be handled. Check out information was not sent only in house manual.”airbnb

“Almost every chair is on the verge of breaking. Backyard fire pit area was full of weeds and the bait in the critter trap by the porch has an awful smell rendering the porch miserable. Deck also has carpenter bees. Master shower is in desperate need of good cleaning. Master bedroom door does not operate well and has no handle on the inside (making it very difficult to get out) Back door doesn’t open all the way because it gets stuck on floor. Basement smells! Kitchen has a broken window and broken flooring transition strip. Location is good”airbnb

“First of all, Check-in was a nightmare. We were not sure which of the three doors was the main door. Instructions said lockbox was located off side porch. We had to walk through what we thought was someone else’s yard to find the lockbox. Then, the key was not in lockbox as instructions said. We contacted host, and was told to look under the doormat. Upon entrance, we immediately smelled smoke. The ceiling had multiple water damage spots with one place falling off. Under furniture was absolutely filthy. We also found an unknown fur/hair ball on the couch. Gross! Reviews had mentioned the sketchy gas station across the road. That was no problem, but the neighbor dogs barking all night was. If check-in instructions were clearer, if key was where it said it would be, and if cleaning was drastically improved, this would have been a 5 star stay.”airbnb

“This place is in bad need of repairs both inside and outside. Rotting wood, flaking paint, uneven flooring, torn furniture, stained carpets, roaches, old food behind furniture, no closet space, unsafe bath tub, poison ivy all over, poor outside lighting, horrible parking conditions, very shabby conditions. I will never use Airbnb again . I would note recommend this place to anyone. I would like a full refund. What a DUMP!!!”airbnb

“Overall a cute place. We didn’t have toilet paper when we arrived and while it was delivered once we contacted the host, it wasn’t until the following mid morning therefore we had to walk across the street to a gas station to get some— this gas station was not a pleasant experience with a lot of individuals asking for money and a fight going on inside it. We felt safe once in the home though and you are close to downtown which is a perk.”airbnb

“Unfortunately this place was not as the listing portrayed. House was filthy. Dirty bathrooms, stained furniture. Piles of dirty linens in the only closet available to use. Outside was frightful, trash and broken glass, beer bottles in driveway. When we tried to contact the host we got no response. Don’t stay here. Plenty of other great stays in Lexington.”airbnb

“We are very disappointed with our stay. We specifically booked this cabin as it had a hot-tub listed as one of the amenities. Upon arrival the water level was only halfway and the temperature remained 85 or below throughout the entire stay, which prevented us from even being able to use it. When we reached out to the host we received unhelpful, AI generated responses and the issue was never resolved. In addition to this, there were some cleanliness issues, which consisted of multiple dead lady bugs found in the bed, ants crawling over the toilet, and uncleaned dishes in the kitchen. We did appreciate the location, fire pit, and fenced in backyard to accommodate our dog, however, will not be booking again in the future due to the cleanliness, missing amenities, and lack of resolution to our issues. I hope these issues can be resolved for future guests.”airbnb
