Manager Review

Prime Vacation Rentals

Prime Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.66 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The rental was mostly great. Appropriate given the price. The only issue was with the jacuzzi, which was unusable during our stay. We notified the office of this issue on day two and spoke again on day four, but they were unable to resolve the problem before the end of our stay. Otherwise, the location is great. The dock is convenient. The house itself is spacious and comfortable.

Nice place. Outside could’ve been cleaner, windows especially!! Weeds all over, also a better table and chairs outside. Need a better explanation of lake access and what dock can be used. Everything else was accommodating.

Overall the house was nice - the space was a perfect size for what we needed. However, the cleanliness was not what we were expecting. There was an unwrapped, unused tampon under one of the couches and the back deck & hot tub were very dirty. The chlorine dispenser had no chlorine tablets inside, there was a musty smell when the jets turned on, and moss growing under the hot tub. There was also a layer of slime and dirt on the table & chairs.

We enjoyed our stay at the property which for the most part looked exactly like the pictures. One of the bedrooms had two lofted beds that were fine but you had to walk up a very skinny spiral staircase to get to them and the fact that they were on an upper level made that area really hot. No problem though it worked out for the number of guests in our party. The bigger issue was that the wifi was out the entire length of our stay. We called the host on Friday night and they did send someone out to troubleshoot but that person was unsuccessful. We called again on Saturday and our disgruntled host claimed that there was nothing they could do further and would keep us posted with any update. On Sunday morning right before our 10am check out someone came from the wifi provider and said that the problem was the host had the wifi set up on the wrong network. It should have worked all along but the host provided the wrong wifi network and password.

We truly loved it here…. House was beautiful and spotless and close to everywhere you’d want to go. A large area to spend time together. You can’t see the lake clearly but we rented a boat and got to see it as much as we possibly could. The down sides are that the dock is about 5 minutes away so if you have someone who can’t walk that far or through the woods, it wouldn’t be a great place for you. And there was no indication as to which boat slip was ours. Pull out couches were crappy… one had a bunch of dirt under the mattress and sunk in the middle so nobody wanted to use it and the other had a hole in the couch cushion. These places cost a lot to rent; it would be nice for owners to update them and have decent places to sleep so guests are comfortable. Burn holes in a bathroom garbage can (could be replaced for $1) and two bathrooms had towel racks that literally fell off the walls. And I think providing only one towel and washcloth per person for a 5 night stay is absurd.

The house is in a great location and has wonderful parking. Although the downstairs door does not lock and the front door did not stay locked. There was trash left behind and old food and clothes outside by the hot tub. We would have had a wonderful time if it was cleaned better and if the doors locked appropriately.

The listing of this house matched exactly what we expected. It was cozy and private and gave a nice wintery feel. There was however a few issues we noted. The fireplace would not stay lit and the water from the fridge was either not hooked up or not working. There was also black mold on the spout where the water comes out. Additionally the remote that worked the ceiling fan and lights in the main floor bedroom didnt work. So for us to run the fan at night we had to unscrew the light bulbs. These were by no means major issues that affected our stay. However, I did message the host to let them know of the first two issues and got no reply. Not even an acknowledgment of my message. That is what bothered me the most. I wonder what would have happened if we had a major issue. Due to that, I’m not sure if I’d stay here again.

The steps were iced and unsafe to get up and down to get into the house and the driveway wasn't clear of ice and snow, and hot water doesn't last for long but other than that the house was nice and suitable for my family to enjoy our stay.
