“SAFETY ISSUE | POOR COMMUNICATION | PROPERTY MANAGED BY PORTER VRM TEXAS *Our stay was seriously impacted by a safety and privacy incident. *We had received no prior notification that anyone would be coming to the apartment. My wife was in the apartment when an unexpected individual tried to unlock and enter the unit. My wife noticed him; he said that had a work order. My wife asked him, “What if we had not been here?” He responded that he would have entered the unit anyway. Unacceptable! I immediately contacted Porter VRM Texas management (Host). Their response was simply, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration,” as no significant safety or privacy concerns were involved. My wife no longer felt comfortable staying at the apartment, and we chose to leave one night early. I asked them to consider providing a credit as a gesture of goodwill. After approximately a day and a half, they offered a $20 credit. Thank you, Airbnb Corp, especially Vinit!”

“This is not a safe area, would not recommend. We had people walking around the place in the middle of the day checking it out and then somebody was trying to break in at 4am. We reached out multiple times to the Porter group and were told that they are looking into it but never got an update.”

“This is our second time booking this location and we plan to rebook it again! We absolutely love it here, love the area, love the surrounding areas, the people in the local area are always very nice. It’s a centralized area so you can generally get to neighboring cities in about 20-30mins give or take depending on traffic and/or where you’re going. Lots of great restaurants in the area, plenty of shopping, and the natural scenery is stunning. The host is always very helpful, kind, promptly responsive and accommodating and this home has a lot to offer… very spacious, lots of natural lighting, nice landscaping, lots of patio seating and a well kept pool. This time around we did notice that this location could use a bit more attention to some cleaning details in between reservations… but nothing major and nothing we couldn’t handle quickly cleaning up ourselves. Nonetheless, again, we always really enjoy this stay… Any given chance to book here, we definitely will. Thank you! ☺️”

“The worst Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Very difficult to find, lots of spiders, and badly in need of maintenance. The bathroom door locked itself, trapping us inside, and we had to climb out through a window because no help was sent. Imagine not being able to use a bathroom for your full stay. There are also two houses with the same number, making the property confusing to locate. At $260 per night, the experience was absolutely not worth it. And charging $75 for just one hour of late checkout is ridiculous. Definitely would not recommend.”

“The place was beautiful. There were some inconsistencies with description and the host was not as accommodating as others I have dealt with.”

“While this property was in a beautiful location, the road getting to it is hazardous at best. The beginning ascent is fine, and then suddenly the road to the house is very narrow, full of turns and potholes, and potentially only one car accessible. We had some problems with the sliding door, only access to the backyard. It was almost impossible to open, and a repair person did arrive to fix it, making access great. On the same visit, we had let them know that there was not hot water reaching the master shower, one of 2 showers in the house. The repair person tried and said he would turn up the hot water heater. We let them know it hadn’t worked, and that we had one shower for 9 people. We never got any feedback on this issue, which was totally unacceptable. We also mentioned that the ice maker did not work, and received no reply. At $500+ per night, this just didn’t seem right. The home is great, but more maintenance prior to and during occupancy is needed.”

“This is a cheap and convenient place to sleep but nothing more. You hear the highway and train noise all night. There is a trailer directly across the yard and the kids play loud music most afternoons and evenings. The cabin was so so dusty and the back yard is barren with some weeds and old plastic lawn chairs. This place has so much potential but it’s just getting by with bare minimum. The blankets had holes and the old burlap curtains were so old and dusty. With just a little effort this could be very cute. Weeds are growing everywhere-it’s obvious the cabins are neglected and no effort is made to improve them. The only good thing was the shower- good pressure and clean bathroom overall. There is an elementary school across the street.”

“Lots to love here. The Jasmine room's vintage charm & direct access to the wrap around. Check-in/out instructions were crystal clear & there was easy access to main facilities & room. A few things did made the stay a bit stressful. Tub water came out brown at first. No cups for the shared coffee machine. Check-in instructions mentioned a fridge that wasn't there. Ended up tossing a significant amount of food I'd bought specifically because of the mentioned fridge & because there was no microwave- negating the value I thought I was getting by booking here. The lack of an air conditioner didn't bother me (& was mentioned), but neighbors struggled. Finally, I returned late after a long day to discover all the parking spaces were full. The host told me to "park in a fee spot" twice before I had to send a photo to explain extent of the predicament. Finally parked in the yard feeling tired, frustrated, & unsafe. Had I known all this, I'd have paid extra elsewhere. Felt more like glamping.”

“I really wish on the check in instructions they would say where all of the thermostats are located. It was very hot for everyone the first night & that was absolutely dreadful after a full day of travel The pictures look way better online than they do in person. This place is a lot more run down than we were hoping it would be. That being said, due to medical reasons & travelling with a toddler we chose to power through & stay the full 2 weeks. The floor downstairs was very dirty and the rug in the living room was absolutely vile with all the dirt on it. Some of the appliances & dishes in the kitchen were not clean & had leftover/old food dried on. The icemaker quit working. The pillows for the beds need upgrading. Most of them are flat and hard and lumpy. The pool was very dirty. My mom had to clean the backyard for an hour and a half. The only bathtub had paint chips coming off of the tub and they’re going everywhere. Hard to bath my baby when that was the only tub available”

“Hopefully receiving requested refund due to no heat, noise from train close by, fireplace not working and very loud guests next to me. Waited 2 hours with no help and room was very cold.”
