“I understand many places in SD don’t have AC, but this was an expensive price for this unit. There is obvious damage to the walls and windows from the windows being open all of the time for air flow. There are plenty of fans but sleeping at night was awful in 85 degrees with humidity. I can’t imagine someone older staying here!”

“If you are looking for a location very close tot he beach, then this is a great spot! Literally a block away to the boardwalk. We enjoyed our morning coffee and random beach trips because it was so close. There are plenty of restaurants to walk to as well. Parking is very difficult to find, especially on the weekend. I loved being so close to the beach, but it is noisy with the night life. Lots of party goers, traffic, and sirens. I am a light sleeper so it was frustrating. Overall, the stay was cool.”

“This is is a nice unit, attractively furnished, with a top-notch kitchen. I was however dismayed by the owner's attitude to maintenance. Basically they seem to feel that if there is something not working, it's up to the renter to discover it, report it, and deal with the inconvenience of having someone come into the house to fix it. For the price of the rental, I expect that the amenities of the house will be working, and routine maintenance performed, before I walk in the door.”

“I was traveling with my family. The house was well equipped and the patio is nice to have the meals outside. The place is located close to a street with restaurants and coffees and it is walkable to the beach.”

“Perfect location to allow us to walk around La Jolla to explore and travel by car into neighboring towns. We had no problem finding the unit and always found a spot for our car along the side street where there weren't parking limitations. The unit was simply decorated but had the basics. Towels and linens were clean, and beds were comfortable for sleeping. As noted in the description, it did not have a/c. We were warm and utilized all of the fans. We opened the windows when we were there but because it is a first-floor unit, we did not leave them open when we were not there or at night. It should also be noted that ANY movement in the unit above could be heard. We were happy with the view of the ocean and the convenience of the table to sit at outside the french doors.”

“The location of his home is perfect close to the beach and the city. However, the furniture and place itself is not kept. It is dirty. There was a strong odor of egg in the kitchen, we also found a roach and reported it to the host. The host seemed upset that we reported it “too late“. The furniture did not match and was all dusty and dirty. It definitely did not reflect the pictures on the listing. We would not go back to this place. I feel it the listing is an inaccurate description of the actual place. The host didn’t offer any kind of apology or way to make it up. We were not happy.”
