Manager Review

Novation Realty

Novation Realty's guest rating of 4.49 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Great location, easy check in, very responsive hosts. Could have been a little bit more cleaner. But overall, would recommend.”

“The place was advertised with three beds, but they did not provide bedding for the pull out. We finally had it delivered, but one of our guests was up waiting for hours and had to stay up late. The toilet also didn’t flush. We had to open the back tank and push down the plug to get a full flush. It would have been nice to have more than two tiles of toilet paper for five days and three guests. I’d also bring extra towels as theirs are small, thin, and only provide a few.”

“This was the dirtiest AirBnB I’ve ever rented. Thick layer of dust on most surfaces when we arrived and my feet were totally blackened after walking across the apartment floor. Lacking basic cleaning and hygiene items like a toilet brush and plunger. bed frame was not put together correctly and fell apart multiple times before we decided to dismantle the thing and put it against the walls. The host outsourced customer service to a call line so when our power went and stayed out during Lala and the key fob system went offline, we were locked out of the rental without a local contact. stayed for a month and got the monthly discount, paid about $2.7k/mo). The building bans short term occupancy, but individual Airbnb hosts in the building don’t seem to honor this, as I met a number of people on vacation for a weekend/few days throughout my stay here. All in all extremely disorienting to pay a premium on an AirBnB to find I had to clean the place myself before I could settle in”

“Pros: studio was clean with exception of balcony which had pigeon poop everywhere, only 2 blocks from ocean. Beach chairs and cooler nice perk Cons: 1. Noisy- frequent police/ambulance sirens, pigeon noise daily @ 5:30. Daily 6 AM beeping from garbage trucks that lasts 30 minutes. 2. Too much pigeon poop on balcony 3. Laundry/fitness room card not available until day 3 of 7 night stay 4. Initially only provided with 1 set of towels per person (2 total). After making owners aware on day 2 of hotel being out of laundry keys, on day 3, he had their housekeeper drop off 4 additional towels. 5. Challenge getting door to studio to lock when attempting to leave, owner communication during these episodes was not always prompt and from answers he was giving, he didn’t know how bc he gave us two different (wrong) answers. We figured it out. 6. When we arrived, the a/c was off and it was very hot. 7. Unit is small Suitcases took up the little floor space there was. 8. $55/night hotel parking.”

“Ok so the spots not horrible but its not the greatest either, worth the stay if youre ok with a little grime and a lobby that looks like it lost a fight to Mike Tyson. The room itself was similar to the photos but the nightstands the closest the bed all are either AI upscaled or just have been replaced with far inferior stand-ins. If I had known that at midnight when id arrived that no only would they have list the key to the room and had to have security let me in but the room would be in such disrepair I would have spent the extra $300 and got a real hotel room down the road. The only plus I can give was the bed was comfortable and the window AC works well besides that this was a surprising disappointment to what was pictured.”

“There were no pics to verify where to retrieve keys/fob. Could not park Jeep rental due to height limit, had to pay 50 per day two blocks down. Have to deadbolt the door because the handle set was inoperable. A/C unit rattled, dirt, hair and dust on floors and counters. Bathroom rack has excessive rust on it. The total space was less than most hotel rooms. The bed was so soft you fall into it. The sliding glass door to access the lanai was difficult to open. The neighboring lanais across the way were close enough that people woke us up both mornings we stayed while having normal conversations at 5am. The building posted less than 24 hours notice that they were shutting water off the second day from 10am-1pm. The hosts were responsive and friendly until I let them know I was not happy and that we were vacating the unit. We did not hear back from them until the day we were supposed to vacate. Not a great experience.”

“This air bnb needs a lot more up keep. When we went to check in the hotel front desk did not have our names on file or know anything of anyone staying in the air bnb because the host failed to let them know so we had to get ahold of them and wait an extra 30 min to check in. Inside the air bnb the sheets had stains on them, the sink and shower drain didn’t not work properly as the water would almost flood out. The chair in the living room had a rip in it so you could lean back without falling through the back. The couch had mold at the bottom of it and the walls were rusted. The room is also next to the elevator so you will hear that all night. I feel as if these things should be addressed before letting people rent it out.”

“Simply put…I was locked out of an apartment because I was given the wrong set of keys & all 3 owners of the rental: Terry, Jay & Rahul were slow to respond & only responded via Airbnb even though I requested a phone call bc I was sitting in the parking lot with all of my luggage & groceries. The apartment was filthy, someone left their dirty underwear & socks in a beach bag in plain view so I know the $295 cleaning fee didn’t go for cleaning the apartment. The pool amenity offered was no use to me as I was not given a pool key to access it. The bed frame I slept on was broken, the door to the bathroom was off its hinges & broken, no privacy & the balcony door was left unlocked & no key given to me in order to lock it..breach of safety as well as the listed smoke detectors were sitting on the coffee table, not mounted on the wall where they belong & no way of mounting them.”

“It’s disheartening to leave a bad review but transparency is important. First, the parking lot is unforgiving, very tight, and the stalls are not long. If you have a vehicle bigger than a sedan, getting in and out is difficult especially when the person parking next to you parks on the line. When I arrived to the front desk my information was not given to the hotel so I had to show my confirmation and receipt for verification. When I got to the room there was poop and toilet paper in the bathroom and the entire room smelled like a sewer. The sheets had blood stains on them. There were beer bottle caps on the side of the bed. The shower curtain was moldy and the shower rod was rusted and fell down when opening the shower curtain. When I reached out to the host they had someone come back to the room to clean the toilet and bring new sheets that smelled like moth balls. I was told they wouldn’t have access unless I was there however I returned to my room they were there unknowingly.”

“Three things we liked about the rental were: (1) the location (really great); (2) the pool and hot tub in the rooftop; and (3) the ease of check-in. Excluding those, we were extremely disappointed with this stay: (1) the space really is more suited for four people, not five; (2) the single bed in the living room was right next to the noisy air-conditioner and an older-style glass windows that may be dangerous and don’t close properly (so there’s direct noise); (3) the air-conditioner is older and not effective to cool the place; (4) the ceiling fan in the bedroom is low, presenting a hazard to those sleeping on the bed; (5) the washroom is outdated and has mould; (6) the wifi/internet and the TV are unreliable/unavailable; (7) the sofa bed mattress has stains on it, and no mattress topper was provided to offer any respite; and (8) it was difficult to reach a live person from the maintenance team, which manages many other units.”
