“Our time here was pretty good. We enjoyed the hot tub the most. One of the better looking houses in an otherwise fairly rundown neighborhood. We noticed an odd smell when we arrived which seemed to fade after an hour or two of the windows being open. The downstairs sleeping accommodations were very noisy. We heard every creaky floorboard and rush of water through the pipes that happened throughout the night. Overall, an adequate housing option, not super far driving distance from the beach.”

“The rental is just as it is described. Getting to the rental had some challenging hills. My kids truly enjoyed the large beds and we enjoyed how quiet it is there. It would help if there was more silverware (especially forks) for the kitchen. It is a lovely rental overall, I truly recommend it to anyone!”

“Facilities were good, clean, welcoming, warm! Some water pressure issues and no/low toilet paper provided, so bring your own! Other than that, such a good place right by downtown Laporte! Convenient located by lakes, stores, coffee, and anything you need! AC works great too!”

“The patio view was beautiful and the pool was fun! The property management team was very responsive, but had more than usually papers to fill and sign. The place needs renovation especially the kitchen and the flooring (nails poking out). It doesn’t have some of the usual airbnb items, no coffee machine, extra paper towels, toilet paper, pool towels, or basic kitchen needs like salt, pepper, and sugar. The shared bathroom’s lock was not working (big inconvenience for a big group), the bed sizes aren’t as listed. The beach near by was very nice and the kids enjoyed it.”

“The house is inhabited by the owner and they did not take any of their belongings out of the way for us. We had no closets or dressers to put our belongings in. Even the bedside table had the owners stuff in it. The kitchen was filthy. The washing machine smelled of mold and the kitchen appliances were filthy. The place smelled like it had t been cleaned in ages. The bathroom was filled with thr ow era items including a dirty razor and tooth brush. Super disappointing and I hope they fix these problems before they list the property again. We had planned on staying 4 nights and hardly stayed 12 hours. It was inhabitable it my opinion.”

“The water restrictions were a problem. And the individual room heaters made the basement rooms and upstairs room way too hot. Other than that, good experience. Great location. Beautiful views.”

“Nasty smell when entered , old sheets and blankets , made me Itch, noisy area, needs maintenance, found a razor blade knife sticking out the couch danger hazard”

“Albeit the lodging was nice and as advertised, there was an attempted break-in. While the management company was accessible, they were dismissive of my concerns over safety. The local law authorities were contacted, but the management company did not do much to appease my angst. A handyman did come to fix the broken locks, but I was told that the METAL locks and latches were broken by wind and natural disasters.”

“The cottage was first eye appealing and a beautiful view. The musty smell was overwhelming. Upon seeing the owners personal belongings, especially the stained yellow pillows on top of the armoire prompted me to check the bed pillows. They were indeed all stained sweat yellow. We left to go get our own pillows. The throw pillows on couch were stained yellow as well. Once we laid down on bed, I noticed all the excessive cob-webs and spider nests through-out the house, including in shower. We were married in the cottage living room. The uncleanliness of cottage was very unappealing. The mattress had 4 mattress pads on it and we rolled into each other through the night due to the dip in the middle.”
