“Great place. Perfect for 3 couples. The place had everything you’d need and more. Great place for walking. Pickleball in walking distance. Great beach in walking distance but we drove. The place was equipped with all necessary beach items. Helicopter rides were real close. Great sunsets on the cliffs. All 3 couples would rent this place again.”

“This will be an unusual review. We stayed at this Airbnb during Hurricane Lowell in Kauai on Sept. 8, 2026. Though it was a very difficult four days, we were safe in the house during this terrible storm. The building is sturdy and it has an upper floor in case of flooding. After the storm we were stranded in the house for four days without electricity or running water and the roads were closed from fallen trees and flooded bridges. When we finally were able to leave, we went directly to the airport to fly out. At that point we still did not have electricity or water. I have to give the management company credit for trying to assist us at two points. They offered several days in advance of the storm to allow us to cancel the reservation with a full refund. Then, on the morning of the storm, they offered to find us a safer property on higher ground, though it was too late for us to leave because of the closed bridges. It was a difficult week, but thank you for trying to assist us.”

“This is an absolutely fantastic house, located near the beach and town…..we used the bikes every day for outings to the farmer’s market, restaurants, beach strolls and shopping. The house was beautifully stocked, comfortable, with scenic views to the mountains. We’ll be back!”

“We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house, which was exactly as pictured. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, and the tasteful decorations throughout the house made it feel warm and welcoming. The absolute highlight was the veranda, the perfect place to relax and unwind, surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation. It was truly a little oasis of peace. Communication with the property management was very friendly and everything went smoothly, including the check-in. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway!”

“Hi we stayed at this wonderful property for 4 nights in August 2026. The house(s) is beautifully designed and appointed. The master BR in the separate wing can be considered its own abode if you so desire. Make sure you take advantage of the various lanai around the house, especially if it rains. House had beach chairs, boogie boards, sunbrella, and was located near the beaches as described. The ONLY reason I gave check-in 4 stars is because there was no mobile reception for us at the house so we had to drive back towards Hanalei to download the welcome/entry email so this is more of an FYI rather than a critique. Once connected to the house wifi there were no issues - Makana Kauai Properties was incredibly easy to deal with and very responsive.”
