“CONS- The house needs some TLC. Some lights don’t work. We had an issue with several roaches coming out from behind the stove. There is garbage under the house that has been there for some time. The general condition of the house was old and weathered. PROS- Everything was pretty clean. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. There was room for 8 comfortably if needed. Plenty of cooking pans and dishes in the kitchen. The location could not have been better. Great beach access. Perfect views. Overall it was a nice stay.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this house! There were a few minor inconveniences like TV/TV remotes not working well and the dishwasher is around the corner from the sink but the house was very clean and well stocked, the views from porch are amazing and it was a great spot for a large group. One thing that needs to be changed on the listing is that it says it has a heated pool but upon arrival we were told it would cost an extra $400 to heat the pool which felt a little misleading. I highly recommend this house for a large group or family!”

“The house is very nice. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the TVs and the lack of communication from Kimberly was not good. Had we have known we would be staying there for 4 days without either TV working in the common areas we would have purchased a TV just to get us through. As Kimberly stated to me she issued us a small refund for the inconvenience. But the lack of communication was truly a disappointment. I feel bad because I do believe the house is in a great location the owner did a fabulous job decorating it but Kimberly's communication was radio silent. We even asked before we went down about the coffee machine and she sent us a picture of the fancy coffee machine and said it did not take k-cups. FYI, they do have another regular machine that takes ground coffee or K-Cups along with the fancy one. This is the first time I have ever stayed at an Airbnb where the owners were not responsive to a oroblem. I had to keep reaching out to her to get a status report.”

“Location is good and convenient. Great for easy access to food, coffee, drinks. The problem we had was with AC unit. The downstairs unit was not working when we arrived and the heat index was way above average for Wilmington. After reporting, I did get a response but not a follow-up as I was told. It was Labor Day weekend and with the extreme heat, HVAC repairs were in high demand. I had to reach back out the next day to ask for an update. I was told the request had been made with multiple companies and that I would receive notice once they had a confirmation. Later that day someone randomly showed up without notice and repaired the unit. The biggest issue I have is the fact the unit was not working upon arrival. I mistakenly assumed these types of things are routinely checked before renters arrive.”

“The property is beautifully designed with modern features, nice appliances, and a kitchen I absolutely loved. The fireplace wall was also a great touch, although I couldn’t figure out how to operate it. The location is excellent, with the Cargo District within walking distance and downtown nearby. Unfortunately, the condition did not fully match the listing photos. The master shower head leaked, a cup had lipstick on it, the grills were extremely dirty (one filled with rusty water), the fire pit appeared unusable, and the outdoor furniture was damaged and missing cushions. Guest towels smelled terrible and had long hairs on them, and the guest bathroom floor was not clean. There were also cobwebs in the downstairs closet and no cleaning supplies or broom, so I had to purchase my own. The vent/filter above the stove also needs attention, as the fire alarm repeatedly went off while cooking. Beautiful home, but cleanliness and maintenance need improvement.”

“Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay. The property had several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including an unusable hot tub that was stuck at 109°F(after days of not answering the owners told us they had a maintenance person coming to fix it but nobody ever showed and we were unable to use the hot tub our whole stay), pincher bugs in the bathrooms, a broken sliding door lock in the downstairs bedroom held shut with a piece of wood, a mold-covered outdoor couch, maggots covering the outdoor trash cans, and unreliable Wi-Fi. The biggest issue was the poor communication from the owners. Messages were left on read for days, calls were rarely returned, and problems we reported were never resolved. We were also told each bathroom would have a roll of toilet paper, but there wasn’t even half a roll when we arrived. Overall, the lack of responsiveness and the condition of the property made this a very disappointing experience, and we would not recommend staying here.”

“Outside lights do not work No outdoor shower M-Thursday, fixed on Friday, we checked out Monday Stove knob is broken Broken pantry door with no stopper on the wall Neighbor’s dog has barked 20 out of 24 hours a day Only 2 burners on the grill work Didn’t have internet for 3 days that there was no resolution provided for. We had to figure out ourselves Half bathroom sink drain has to be held up for it to drain Code does not work for bottom lock on door, only works for the deadbolt Back door screen is busted out and the door will not lock Sent the list of issues to the owner and she did provide a partial refund which came out to be 12.2%. She was incredibly rude and accused me of manipulating the situation for a larger refund, after I had sent pictures and videos of all the issues. I even had to get Airbnb support to assist. The home is beautiful but there were issues. Very new rental that could use more attention before being rented. Location and golf cart were great.”
