“What a beautiful home and view. We hosted our daughter who is a student at Clemson with a few of her friends. They loved getting away from campus, and we loved having spaces for them to hang out and enjoy a fall weekend. Highly recommend and we would love to come again!”

“Beautiful view of Lake Keowee and a fantastic walking trail (2.5 miles), which we used every day. It was so quiet at night! Very peaceful!! Condo itself was OK, at best. Location, bring your groceries....Closest grocery store is a 20 mile round trip drive to Publix. Kitchen was well equipped (maybe over equipped). The wifi info provided by host was incorrect. The connect info inside the unit was the correct one to use. Directions to use TV were old and incorrect, and there were 4 different remotes! Master BR had an old sleep number mattress...which didn't work. Clearly the place had not been cleaned in a while, upon our arrival there were dead cock roaches on the floor, mud dobber nests under the cover of the porch swing and a wasp nest on porch. The microwave was broken (couldn't open it) and towel rack in bathroom had been broken before and was in a corner of the room. Bottom line, the place needs some TLC. Keowee Key is beautiful.”

“The condo itself was beautiful. The unit was nicely furnished, very comfortable, and the kitchen was especially well equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the space and thought the condo was lovely. Unfortunately, after our first night, we received a notice stating that we had been walking too loudly after 10 p.m. and reminding us to wear shoes rather than walk barefoot and to avoid making any noise between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. We were not being disruptive or having people over, and we were generally very quiet. We did walk around the condo after 10 p.m., as you would naturally expect to be able to do in a condo. We understand that shared buildings require consideration for neighbors, but the notice felt unreasonable and, honestly, insulting given how quietly we were staying and how much we had spent for the stay. It put a damper on what otherwise was a beautiful condo and a very nice space.”

“Overall, the house itself was great. It was spacious, comfortable, and worked well for our group. We enjoyed the property and would have had a very positive experience if not for a couple of significant issues. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was out for our entire 4-night stay. I contacted the host throughout the trip and was repeatedly told there was an outage in the area and that they were waiting for an update from the internet provider. While I understand that outages can happen and may be outside of the host’s control, going the entire stay without an advertised amenity like Wi-Fi was an inconvenience, and no alternative solution was provided. We were also surprised that a 5-bedroom home accommodating a large group was supplied with only three rolls of toilet paper for a 4-night stay. We ended up having to purchase additional basic supplies ourselves. Those 2 items prevented a better review.”

“The home is beautiful, spacious, and in an amazing location on Lake Keowee with incredible views. The kitchen is well stocked, and it comfortably accommodated our large group. The biggest issue was the spiders. We’ve never seen so many webs at a rental. The host sent someone to knock them down, but they didn’t spray, so by the next day the webs had returned to the chairs, railings, and doorways. There was also a sewage smell in the backyard whenever someone showered, making the porches difficult to enjoy. The home needs maintenance. We found loose toilets, doors that wouldn’t latch, and a stair railing that failed because it wasn’t properly secured, creating a serious safety concern. Smoke detectors were also extremely sensitive. Amenities were minimal: only two kayaks, one towel per guest, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no beach towels, and no spices. Overall, a beautiful home with great views that would benefit from better maintenance and pest control.”

“Overall the stay was fine. Biggest issue is with the downstairs area. The doors are broke, and when we arrived they provided a code but there was no lockbox or any other indication for how to get in. Additionally, the downstairs area is very old and outdated. The furniture, beds, and everything else feels very used. It was also damp and dusty down there. One of our guests had to sleep on the couch upstairs due to this. Upstairs we had little to no complaints. Speaker on the tv is broken and one of the burners on the stove wasn’t working.”

“This is a beautiful property with great potential, and we appreciated the peaceful mountain setting. However, there were several issues we wish had been disclosed before booking. The listing advertised six beds, but only five were available upon arrival, which was inconvenient for our group. We also found a note about briars, snakes, and bears—understandable for the area, but something guests should know in advance. There were also safety concerns. Bats in the fireplace made noise throughout our stay, and the basement doors would not lock once opened, raising security issues. Additionally, the dirt driveway could become hazardous in wet conditions. Overall, more transparency would have helped us make a more informed decision.”

“Good location in Keowee Key and close to North Marina for quick stops. Having experienced a lot of VRBOs and AirBnb properties my only suggestion is to provide at least 1 backup toilet paper per bathroom when cleaning leaves a half roll - same for paper towels, and 1 trash bag. Build an extra $10 in rent vs asking a tenant to go out and buy this during their stay. Very inconvenient. Otherwise clean and as described in the listing and nice location.”
