“We genuinely liked Joe, the owner. He personally came out and tried to fix both the swamp cooler and dishwasher but unfortunately couldn't. He also brought us a bottle of wine to help temper the sting. Our disappointment wasn't with Joe—it was with the response from his host/property management team. I reached out privately because I hoped the issues would be addressed for future guests instead of posting a public review. Instead, our feedback was dismissed with criticism rather than acknowledged. I understand that things break, but how concerns are responded to afterward matters just as much. It's unfortunate because this review could have been avoided. Joe seems like a genuinely kind owner who cares about his guests. Based on our experience, we believe he deserves a property management team reflects the same level of care and commitment he showed during our stay.”

“This was a great little spot tucked back in the woods, and a good price for what you get. The only beef I had with the place is they don’t keep the a/c on at all while it’s not occupied. If you show up on a summer evening you’re going to be miserable. There are only little a’c units in the rooms, and many of the rooms don’t have a/c at all and rely on little fans. Unless you give the place ample time to cool down it’s like an oven in there. Our first night was pretty lame, but after that it cooled down and was better.”

“We won't referring to any friends for staying this house. Because the host wouldn't provide any shampoo, bodywash for customers. It's very essential items for stay in any hotels or airbnb. We checked in at 5pm, when we found out already late at night. we had to drive 5 miles to store to buy those stuffs for shower. It's very prediculous service staying this house.”

“Great place and great location; but the lack of maintenance work, excessive tasks and overly automated communication is where this host fails. Since the beginning of the stay, we were messaged with a strong, ordering tone with little courtesy. There were a lot of threats in the communication: Leave trash and you will be fined, if you don’t do dishes we will charge you etc. That’s extremely unacceptable. I confronted them and told them that I won’t do dishes and no they cannot charge me for that. No response, they didn’t even respond to my message. There were major problems with cleanliness. We spotted rat droppings everywhere. We had to do full cleaning for a few hours in the bathrooms, bedrooms and the kitchen before being able to use the spaces. Blankets were used outside and were dirty. We asked for washing machine access to wash the laundry but they didn’t let us use it so things remained dirty and unusable. Great place but hosts have minimal commitment to work they charge for.”

“The home was as described and very cute. The wood trim and doors in the home were beautiful, as was the kitchen. It was great having laundry available. It was within a short drive to Yosemite. Feedback I've given to the host... The outlets in the hallway bathroom do not work (I've also seen this feedback on a separate review). There was a mouse in the home causing chaos and scares at night. Upon our arrival there were several things strung about the property outdoors that I picked up and threw away.”

“Home is well furnished, overall clean and comfortable, HOWEVER- kitchen sink has rusted through, cannot be cleaned and is unsafe for food prep. Should be replaced! Additionally, hood above stove has droppings from rodent or bird.”

“Wish the facility would have been cleaner. The house layout was very nice but it was noticeable that the house was not properly cleaned. We found dirty old laundry in 2 rooms. The dishes were stored as clean but dirty. The place would have been perfect if only it was cleaner.”

“There was no power in the guest bath plug in, we’re told it was by the garage, and it wasn’t. It was outside the house wall. There was one towel in the kitchen for the seven day stay. And one hand towel for each bathroom for a seven day stay.”

“Good location, walkable to marina and restaurants. Great size for our family of 7. This place has wonderful potential and is just “tired,” and needs some attention. Bed in garage apartment very uncomfortable and sagging and carpet was dirty, very spotted loose seams and snags and needs to be replaced. Bed in master bedroom loud and creaky. Overall floors in house were dirty, and bathrooms did not appear to be mopped. Cobwebs and dead bugs on most windows sills. Air fresheners overwhelming. There were 7-8 that we had to remove and put outside to avoid getting headaches as some are sensitive to smells. The soap in all bathrooms was not restocked and water added to dispensers. The fire alarm was chirping on arrival and no one was able to come fix it so we took battery out which fixed the sound. Kitchen stocked well. Game room below garage very fun.”

“I would not recommend this spot if you are looking for a comfortable stay. The Airbnb is close to Yosemite, but it is not worth the trouble. We were staying as a group, and when we arrived, we discovered that one of the bedrooms was entirely separated from the rest of the house. This was not listed on the Airbnb description nor communicated to us. The single bedroom in the basement was also cold and dark. There was no central heat and only one small heater in the living room that did not warm the bedroom or bathroom, making it difficult to be comfortable. We kindly asked the host if we could have space heaters brought in, and our request was denied. The house was also dirty. The plates and cups were covered with old food, beds were filled with hair and bug carcasses, and bathrooms were dusty. Carpets/ rugs were filled with human and animal hair. House needs a deep clean. Overall, the house is old, dark, and dirty, and I would not recommend. Do not let the arcade or photos fool you.”
