“Had a great stay! We rented both cottages, and we were elated to be so close to the beach and so many restaurants. Having a bodega just steps away was a game-changer! That it served bagels in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon/evenings was next level convenience. We were looking for a ground-level home to accommodate some of the folks in the group with limited mobility, so this was a great find. The home was very clean and organized inside with lots of touches of home. The only parts we were slightly disappointed about were that we needed to clean the outdoor porch areas ourselves to hang out in them— cobwebby, dirty seating, and the free-standing hammock from the photos wasn’t there. Though the cottages are side by side, there’s no passage between them, so it’s a bit awkward for a big group like ours that had hoped to eat meals and watch movies together. If you plan to spend most of your time on the beach itself or on the pier, you can’t beat the location, though.”

“The home looks nice in the listing photos, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the price or our expectations. We spent far too much of our week-long vacation texting with property management about maintenance issues instead of relaxing. There were numerous problems that should have been addressed before we arrived: the outdoor rinse hose was broken, the oven didn’t work, there was a leak over one of the toilets, several outdoor chairs were broken, the back door wouldn’t open until we fixed it ourselves, and the curtain rods kept falling down. While property management responded to messages, most issues were never truly resolved during our stay. The home also lacked many of the small details that make a beach rental comfortable—places to hang wet towels and bathing suits, towel hooks, a broom for beach sand, and a convenient place to leave shoes despite the no-shoes rule. The kitchen was disorganized, making it frustrating to find basic items. One lower-level bedroom has no window”

“The house is very nice”

“We have stayed on Bald Head Island many times and have also rented through Airbnb many times. The condition of this house was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival inspection it was discovered that the ocean front master bedroom slider door did not open. It was clear this was not a new problem. We were told that a part would be ordered, it would not be fixed during our stay and the living room door was operable to use. When paying for a beachfront home, the expectation is that all doors work so that you can access the deck at anytime. This was unacceptable. The condition of the house was worn. The outside showers were inoperable when we arrived, it they did fix on Wednesday. Parts of the roof had fallen to the ground on the side of the house. The main slider doors were broken by the end of the week, because you had to pull so hard to get them open, the handles came apart. The living room rug was stained and the overall condition of the house was not worth the price.”

“House was lovely and right next to the beach. Couldn't have fit what we needed more!”

“The pictures looked way better than the condo. The condo was the perfect location being right by the boardwalk. Every restaurant was within walking distance with Publix being a five minute drive. The pool was unfortunately out of commission and I definitely recommend ensuring you know which set of beach chairs and umbrella are yours before you get to the beach. They are tagged with names and we weren’t originally prepared for the process before getting there. The ice maker was completely broken off the securement and unfortunately didn’t work. The king bed had terrible sheets that didn’t fit properly, either.”

“Beautiful view from second floor. Great location. Our only complaint was that the bathrooms were not very clean upon arrival.”

“Amazing view and very nice location, however the screen on the porch and the doors on the inside badly need replacement. stains on pillows and crumbs in beds made it hard to be comfortable, many bugs as well. The second golf cart is not running, so overall there were too many issues.”

“The location was definitely the highlight of this stay. Being right on the beach was wonderful, and the screened-in back porch was a great space to enjoy meals, relax, and take in the views. That said, with a group of 10 staying for a week, we found the supplies and amenities to be quite limited. The home felt more like a basic hotel stay than a true "home away from home." Each guest was provided only 1 towel, and while that could be manageable, we were given just 3 laundry detergent boxes and were asked to wash all beach towels before checkout. The house also came with only a starter roll of toilet paper per bathroom and just 3 dishwasher detergent packs for the entire stay. Overall the property offers an excellent location and beautiful outdoor space, but guests planning a longer stay or traveling with a larger group should be prepared to bring or purchase additional supplies. If you're looking for convenience and a fully stocked vacation home experience this is something to consider”
