Island Park Reservations's guest rating of 4.72 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We found this small, eclectic property. It was cute and some might say whimsical. Not everyone’s cup of tea but some would enjoy it. The photos portray a much bigger space than we experienced. Where they lost us is a cleanliness. The bedrooms up stairs had ceiling fans with many months of dirt. We hesitated to turn them on for fear of the likely dust storm that would follow. My wife and daughter stood on the beds cleaning them so we could use them. In the master, my wife tried to plug in pone of the lamps on the night stand and got a shock. Not a surprise but an actual electric shock complete with sparks due to a damaged wires on the plug . Quite a dangerous moment. Next day, I pulled a sauce pan from the cabinet and found two live earwigs in the pan. Day after that I found more on the counter. The small whimsey was ok; albeit not a favorite. That lack of safety and cleanliness is unacceptable. This is allegedly a super host. That status clearly needs serious review.”airbnb

“Would strongly recommend against a staying here. Multiple lights were broken in the home and when we reached out to the host about getting them fixed, we had to ask four times and wait four days until they came to check on the property. They came to check when we were not home and both didn’t replace any lights and left the house unlocked with all of our valuables inside. We informed them about this and they ignored us. They also advertise this as a four bed house but there are only three beds (there is an additional mattress which is not very comfortable so that someone can sleep on the floor). You will never communicate with an actual person but rather an anonymous employee of a large holding company who will be very slow to respond to you.”airbnb

“It was a beautiful place to stay! However, we paid a lot for multiple things to not be working. They said they would bring a working microwave and didn’t which affected our stay. The WiFi had a lot of problems too. Extensive check out/cleaning instructions with lack of direction for where to put garbage”airbnb

“Great space inside cabin and under separate garage but the yard was in poor condition and unkept”airbnb

“The stay isn’t worth of what we paid for, very expensive. The kitchen isn’t well maintained simple things like knife/blender weren’t working. Microwave has broken buttons. Pans and pots are very old which has coating gone which is harmful to cook food in. Bathroom flush is very weak and bathroom water smells bad. Living room furniture is very old and dirty and needs upgrade. The wooden walkway needs maintenance as one of us got hurt because of a loose plank. The house makes weird noises at night which led to poor sleep. The outside patio needs maintenance and isn’t well maintained we didn’t get to use it even once.”airbnb

“We showed up a hour and a half after the check in time to find someone in the driveway, zero communication that we would except that, cause fear and no understanding as to why. Excessive instructions and over excessive asking of cleaning and prepping of leaving the unit. More of a sense that I had to clean for the next occupants. Also the hot tub was not told that you had to “air” it out for an extended amount of time prior to use. First night had burning of our eyes to the point we couldn’t use it. The house itself was what they described but for the price and excessive instructions I would not rent again. Seemed as though they wanted to have hard rules so they didn’t have to do much. And showing up to someone in the driveway a hour and a half after my scheduled check in scared us to the point we stayed in the car while my spouse investigated the person in the home prior my myself and my children getting out of the car. Not worth the cost and stress overall.”airbnb

“Cutest little place! Only a few issues such as the pictures don’t match the number of beds available. In the picture it shows a futon which we were counting on so people had to double up on the beds which wasn’t ideal. The one roll of paper towels was interesting to say the least especially for the amount of money we paid to stay there. Also wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped, it was pretty dirty. I am not sure if it was cleaned prior to check in. The towels seemed to be clean tho. Cute place! Love the idea of a one studio place.”airbnb

“It was very expensive for the location and the. Pose level around you and the little bites of being charged for stuff if you mess something up was kind of a lot. It was a nice place but very close to neighbors and like I said they were very loud. Was a little hard to find as gos doesn’t bring you tight to it… and pay a lot to than have them ask you to strip beds and everything before you leave. Maybe it’s just me but it was a nice house in general just didn’t think it was worth the amount paid.”airbnb

“The place itself is fine - very small but good enough for a couple days. The walls are thin and there is a door adjoining that unit to the next one - if your neighbors snore or have loud kids then it will sound like they’re in the same room. The host is unresponsive and not helpful. We arrived and I realized they never sent me the door code, I had to text the after-hours number to get it. All the communication from the host is just auto-generated messages that go out to any guest staying in any of their units, so you have to read a lot of information that isn’t relevant to your stay and try to figure out what applies to you. Their auto-generated messages failed to include our check in or check out information. They never responded to my messages on the Airbnb platform.”airbnb

“This booking is a good location and is a nice base for IP activities. Clean 1 bedroom with kitchen and bathroom. The host seems to be a host that primarily has another reservation company but lists the property on Airbnb as a secondary way to get business. This caused us a lot of trouble. We had to sign forms and agreements outside of the Airbnb app, take screenshots for all instructions, and communicate after hours outside of the app. After doing all this we did not get codes or access instructions in the way they described and had to message them. At the time of this review the listing was 2 bed 2 bath and we were charged at that price. When we arrived I messaged the host for help and they said it was a system error but they couldn’t accommodate what we booked. Other properties of that size owned by the same host were listed for cheaper. The host was kind and gave us $50 back, but at that point it felt like we overpaid. Still enjoyed our stay, but probably wouldn’t book again.”airbnb
