Gulf Coast Lifestyle Vacation Rentals

Gulf Coast Lifestyle Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.65 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This was a nice place overall due to the location. However, the host set the bar low for expectations. They had bare minimum necessities such as toilet paper and towels that was not enough for the stay. All the knives in the kitchen were rusted and unusable. The toilet seat was discolored and peeling. One of the bedrooms was hot despite the AC being set to 65. Unfortunately on our last day it was storming so leaving was a hassle. Both stairs become soaked since the rain drains off the roof straight onto the stairs.

Had slight issues with the dishwasher, and although this never caused much of an issue more of an inconvenience. After being there for a few days, maybe because it was overlooked originally or it worsened/began after the stay had started, some green and brown dots began appearing around the vents in both bathrooms on the white ceiling. When I notified the host of this and sent pictures of this I was told this was just slight discoloration due to warm air meeting cold air from the vent. When you have a pregnant fiancé in the room chances are not to be taken and the host was unwilling to have someone to simply come and clean this. There was some holes in the ceiling of one room directly above the bed. To my knowledge this was never looked at and although it was no where near a vent, I was informed by AirB&B support, the host recommended I turn the vent off in this room to prevent further items from falling off the ceiling. This stay started great but ended bad.

This property has the potential to be beautiful, but there were many signs of neglect. Primary bathroom toilet ran continuously. We tried to stop it, but there were broken parts in the toilet tank. Most bathroom toilet paper holders were broken. Ovens were very dirty. Air filters for HVAC units did not appear to have been changed in a very long time. Main kitchen icemaker did not work. Pool table did not have enough balls to fill a rack, therefore we were not able to use it, which was disappointing. Lights in main bathroom shower did not come on. Detergent dispenser in main kitchen dishwasher did not work. Hand soap dispensers were empty. I bought hand soap to fill them, but several still didn’t work. Bathtub faucet in primary bath was missing a handle. My son-in-law repaired the icemaker, and he and our son changed the filters in the HVAC units. I reached out to Cody to report problems, but never got a response. Many of these issues could be easily rectified.

The location and proximity to the beach was great! So easy to walk out the door and be right on the sand. This made naps and meals a breeze with small children. However there are some major negatives. There was a layer of grime on everything and hair in the shower. The place did not seem very clean. The highchair was old and dirty. It’s mentioned in the listing, but they literally provide the bare minimum - 1 trash bag, 1 paper towel roll, and 2 toilet paper rolls. Wish we didn’t have to buy hand and dish soap. The shower is TINY! We knew from the photos there was not a bathtub, but the shower is barely big enough for an adult. This made bathing our children very challenging, but we made it work. The biggest concern was the slope in the floor. My child was playing with toy cars and they would roll off the kitchen table. The creeks and groans were a bit disconcerting. We specifically looked for a place with a pool in case the waves were too rough and were disappointed with the size.

I must have missed that you have to have a room number to get through the gate and my service was not working in my phone so have room number available. Also was not aware we needed to pay to park for the week. But once we finally got in, it seemed to go smooth. Building is pretty old by looks of outside and hallways but the room was nice!

This condo was so disappointing, filthy furniture and floors. Despite cleaning people coming back to clean the floors because our infants legs and hands were black from crawling on the floor, it was still disgusting. Cleaning crew made us aware that the tenants before us had smeared fecal matter in the walls and in the showers which made us even more uneasy. The couches and chairs were disgusting and stained, we wouldn’t even sit on them. The pullout bed did not have sheets and mattress was covered in dirt and pubic hair and stains. Dust and sand everywhere when we arrived. The pool was full of hair and trash. There were very few towels. The washer and dryer were filthy. I would never use this rental company again!

This condo is fantastic. We loved the building and all of the amenities. We will definitely be back. The only issue we had was checking in. We came after hours and it was dark. We were not told that if we arrived after hours that we would need to go to a different property to check in, so it was very confusing as there are multiple properties with the same name. If that had been conveyed in messages prior to checking in, it would have went much better. Other than that one issue, it was perfect!

The bathroom shower didn’t drain. You would have to stand in water up to your ankles. The humidifier was moldy. You could only use one light in the bathroom because the fan makes a super loud screeching noise. There were gnats everywhere.

This condo is directly on a wide stretch of beach with nice views from the balcony. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Beach service is available for $45/day for two chairs. We chose not to do this because of the added expense. We arrived an hour after check-in and the inspector was still there - somewhat disconcerting. The condo had an old grease/fish smell that would not go away. The freezer, although clean, smelled of fish. Maintenance promised to change out the air filters but that was never done. We thought the internet was very slow (took up to 30 seconds to load a popular site. We asked Cody about it, and he said this speed was "normal" for the complex. We ended up using our cell phones (Verizon service is best in the area) as hot spots whenever we needed to work on our laptops. TV was standard satellite service. No issues. The master bath sink was missing a stopper and if you taller than 5'9" you will have to stoop while in the shower.

The room and location was great, however there was construction going on, loud enough to not talk, watch tv or nap. We were not informed of this ahead of time. Cody said they were just doing touch ups. There was drilling, hammering and workers on the balcony.
